The Sunsilk range is one of the few I will always come back to (especially if there is good offers on it) I popped into Boots the other day for a nosy about and to see what BOGOF's they had on this week, when I noticed a shelf saying that if I bought one of Sunsilk's products I could choose another of same value or cheaper for free! Well girls (and boys) we all like something for nothing don't we?
So I carefully ... ...were also on this offer but I rarely use any of those) and opted for the care and repair one which suited my rather over processed hair.
Both the shampoo and conditioner in this range were £1.99 each so I got them both for £1.99! This was for a 250ml bottle too so good value.

Being the rather fickle female person that I am, I tend to chop and change my shampoos and conditioners with whatever is on special offer….but every now and again I come across one which I really like!
So I carefully perused the different options of shampoo's and conditioners (styling products were also on this offer but I rarely use any of those) and opted for the care and repair one which suited my rather over processed hair. Both the shampoo and conditioner in this range were £1.99 each so I got them both for £1.99! This was for a 250ml bottle too so good value.
The bottles are a lovely peach colour with a dark orange lid. The lid on the shampoo is on the top, and is the usual very easy to open flip top cap. Conditioners lid is on the base so makes it easier to tell which is which when in shower with water running down your face! This care and repair shampoo and conditioner claim to nourish daily damaged hair (which mines is due to my beloved GHD's) both contain duo keratins which helps to promote healthy hair.
Ok on to the washing of my long hair!
Shampoo = I pour a blob about the size of a fifty pence piece onto my hand, it's quite a thick consistency, is pale peach in colour and it looks a tiny bit sparkly which should mean my hair will reflect light more easily? It also smells quite vividly of peaches and is quite a pleasant fruity smell. There also seems to be an underlying floral note in there somewhere too but I could be mistaken. You use this shampoo in exactly the same way you would use any other liquid shampoo, ie wet your hair thoroughly, massage shampoo into scalp and work through to the ends. I always rinse and repeat this action as I like my hair to feel squeaky clean….the second wash for me I usually use a smaller amount of the shampoo though as a little really does go a long way. This is a shampoo which does give a good lather if you like that!
Conditioner ======== I have to condition my hair every time I wash it because my hair is very thick and is prone to being very knotty! And nothing worse than your fella running his fingers through your tresses ladies and getting them stuck! Again use this like any other conditioner, Make sure shampoo is completely rinsed and pour a small fifty pence size amount onto hand (less if short hair) The conditioner is more like a cream, it's thick and white and also smells very peachy. The best thing about this conditioner is that you don't have to leave it in for ages for it to do it's work, it states on the bottle that 1 minute is enough time! And it really is! I basically apply it to the ends of my hair and up towards root but stop about an inch short of them so that I don't end up with flat hair! As soon as I start to rinse this conditioner out I can feel how soft my hair feels, and it seems to remove all knots almost instantly which means less fighting with my comb afterwards!
My hair is left smelling very fresh and clean and fruity, it's not overpowering and won't detract from your perfume or anything else. But if you do let someone get close enough to smell your hair they will be pleasantly surprised.
If your hair needs a little further attention there is also a 24/7 day care cream which is basically a leave in cream conditioner.
For your information I have included the other shampoos conditioners in this range
Colour and shine range - for dull and dreary hair, (red bottles/dark red lids) Silky and Straight - prone to kinks and frizz, (lilac bottles/purple lids) Anti-itch - for sensitive itchy scalps, (pearl colour bottles/beige lids) Anti-flat - for flat hair which lacks volume (light blue bottles/darker blue lids) Waves and Curls - for taming curls (light green bottles/dark green lids) Respect and Balance - for keeping hair in good condition (pink bottles/dark pink lids) Fresh for longer - for greasy hair (aqua bottles/dark aqua lids)
There is also the colour collection which includes Lively blonde, (I also used this and love it) Passionately red Deeply brunette.
These bring out the natural (or not) highlights in your hair!
I am planning on trying the anti itch formula and the silky and straight one too, to compare them with the care and repair quite soon.
Advantages: cheap and it works. Disadvantages: none as yet
...was a bottle of smoothing sunsilk shampoo in my hand I remembered the review I had read the week before, and decided to give it a go.
I seemed to remember that it wasn't too expensive. When I looked at the price it was only £1.67 so I picked up the conditioner too. Same price! Then I noticed there was another bottle next to it which was labelled instant smoothing cream. This is where we get stung i thought. But i was wrong, this too was marked £1.67. ... ...aisle, i realised that all three together cost less than one bottle of my old shampoo.
When I got home I read the bottle which claims to be 'enriched with satin proteins ,which deeply smoothes the entire length of your hair' . I followed the instructions;
Shampoo - 'use with smoothing conditioner' for best results.
Conditioner- 'Follow with instant smoothing cream' for best results.
Smoothing cream - 'Rub one or two walnut sized amounts and smooth ...

...contains Aloe Serum).
Sunsilk was in fact launched in 1964 starting with four makes:
‘Black Shine: for dull hair
Bouncy Volume: for thin short hair
Silky Strength: for dry damaged hair
And Natural Nourishment: for regularly oiled hair’ (who knows what that means?)
I’m not sure if these original products still exist but I do know that earlier this year the products were re packaged and re-launched by the makers ‘Elida Hair Institute’ so I presume ... ...‘For best results use with Sunsilk Frizz control conditioner and cream’.
‘In case of contact with eyes, wash out immediately with warm water’.
It also obviously lists the ingredients, which states it has an added aloe serum.
From the time I first used the formula I was pleased with the results I blow-dried my hair and there was definitely a noticeable reduction in the amount of frizz. My hair felt soft and it was tangle free and manageable.
However ...

Advantages: lovely smell Disadvantages: makes hair a bit greasy the day after
The new Sunsilk range has arrived, not amongst the fanfare of bands playing but with a blitz of money saving offers in various shops. The range consists of shampoos and conditioners, for all different hair types, ranging from ‘Normal’ to ‘Curly.’ I’m pretty sure I’ve seen some sort of serum advertised as well, but so far I’ve not spotted this in any shops.
I've been informed by the Warden (see comments) that this isn't actually a new product and ... ...Enriched with Duo Keratins, Sunsilk Daily Wear & Tear system leaves hair feeling silky, smooth and shiny day after day.” So, the usual promises that the hair care industry always gives us, hmmm...we shall see if they keep them.... As a student of linguistics, I can tell you that the paragraph utilises the second person pronoun (you) in order to draw the reader in and think “Yes, I like that, I think I’ll try that for MY hair!” They use this very ...

for every day use this one works great.
Hair is easy to style after using this conditioner and I noticed that my hair looked less dry and it looked like the split ends had disappeared.
This conditioner works great with the Sunsilk Brunette shampoo which is also a great product to use for every day in your hair.

Advantages: Makes you hair straigher and sleeker Disadvantages: None
the guy from the Ronseal ads, it does exactly what is says on the tin, oops, sorry bottle!
It also smells nice and washes out easily. Some shampoos can feel like it hasn't washed out and makes you stand in the shower for an extra 10 mins while you figure out if it's gone or not, but this is not like that at all.
There is also a conditioner available under the same name "Sunsilk Silky & Straight" along with a 24/7 instant smoothing cream, which I haven't used and therefore can't comment on. The conditioner however probably adds to the whole smoother effect as I never use the shampoo on it's own.
On the whole, I would recommend this Sunsilkshampoo and conditioner to anyone with kinky or frizzy hair. I'm not promising miracles, but if you're hair's normally quite out of control like mine, then it will make it a lot better.

Advantages: Added Volume, Clean, Shiny, Price, Disadvantages: The Packaging
The Sunsilk voluptuous volume shampoo and conditioner duo are a great product with added collagen to boost the volume of your hair from the roots by plumping up the strands of hair. Unfortunately unless you are extremely patient and have a few extra minutes when washing/conditioning your hair you will struggle with squeezing the formula from the packaging quickly and easily.
Let me start from the top. I bought theses two items on BOGOF in ASDA I think I paid approximately £2 for the both of them. They looked ideal for my type of hair ? flat. I also thought the product was quite innovative as I haven?t come across shampoo and conditioner with added collagen for the purpose of increasing the volume in the hair strands.
These Sunsilk products don?t come in their traditional hard plastic oval packaging, instead they are a softer ...
