I bought both SuperMarioGalaxy and Mario and Sonic at the Olympic games. I was thinking that the M&S OG would keep the kids happy and SMG would be one of them games that hopefully we would all grow to love. How wrong could I be, (although M&S OG is good and we all enjoy it), SMG is absolutely fantastic
I purchased the Wii more to bring the family in to line with gaming, hoping that we could all enjoy it rather than me just enjoying the odd computer game. What I have found is a medium that we all enjoy, we have dabbled with Wii Sports and Rayman Rabbid Rabitts and others. However, SuperMarioGalaxy has just moved it on a whole load, a brilliant game that we all love; my daughters are 4 and 8, my wife has never been into video games and yet we all watch, play, encourage, collect stars ect for each other.

The premise for MarioGalaxy begins in fairly well-worn territory. Mario receives a note from his beloved Peach to come to the castle, for she has a special "gift" for him. He arrives, only to walk straight into chaos as Bowser and son arrive in a fleet of airships and use a giant UFO to pluck the Princess' castle right out of the ground. Mario gives chase, but is unable to rescue her before the fearsome twosome jet off into space.
