Finally, the game all wii owners have been waiting for, and it doesn't dissapoint, Super Mario Galaxy is possibly one of the greatest video games of all. You can't not love it, whether your a hardcore gamer or a child.
The story starts in a fairly familiar way Bowser kidnapps Princess Peach and Mario sets out to save her. However from then on Mario needs to travel into different galaxies to collect power stars, which allow Rosalina to see further on into the universe. This continues until Mario has ollected enough power stars so Rosalina can see Bowser in the centre of the universe.
When you travel to a galaxy they are a joy to explore you jump from tint planets to other tiny planets where the gravitational forces pull you in. Another way of traveling to another planet is via pull stars, what you do is hold the A when the pointer is on a pull star and it pulls you towards that star.
In some galaxies Mario needs to change into different suits, first of all theres normal mario whoch were all familiar with. Then theres bee mario, to change into bee Mario you collect a black and yellow mushroom, in the bee Mario suit you can fly around and when you go into water you change back to Mario's original form. When you turn into fire Mario, which has been used in many previous Mario games you can fire fireballs. you can also turn into boo Mario which allows you travel through walls. Wearing these suits are essential to completing the game but many of the controls for them are annoying and irresponsive.
Key to the game is the wii remote pointer, you shake it to spin Mario which dazes enemies you poit at star bits to collect them and whenever you see a big orange star you get close to it then shake the wii remote and you travel to a differet part of the galaxy. To fire star bits you press B, star bits daze enemies and you can feed creatues called Luma's with them to help you progress faster in the game.
The audio is good without being as catchable as previous mario games. But after a while some gamers will be humming along to the tune.
In conclusion Super Mario Galaxy is an excellent game that I would reccomed to anyone who has a wii. And if you don't have a wii, BUY ONE, just to get this game.

Advantages: Some great exclusive games that use the Wii-mote and other accessories for a unique experience. Disadvantages: Underpowered next to its main competitors and with weak versions of many cross platform games.
