The monkeys are very cute and the 3D backgrounds are fantastically detailed. The sound doesn't dissapoint either. Great sound effects and catchy music. There monkey noises are a bit too cute though!!
The menu screens are also very simple, which is note worthy.

There's not much of a story really. Evil Dr Bad Boon has stolen all of the bannanas and it's up to our monkey chums to save the day!!
Gameplay:
Addictive and fun. The main game is story mode. You must roll your monkey from the start of each suspended maze to the finish against the clock. Various obsticles get in the way that can frustrate but the main risk is falling off the platform. The "one more go" factor is immense. Once you have completed 10 mazes you get some cutesy story sequences and move to the next world. Every time you finish a maze you receive play points which can be used to unlock goodies.
The other mode is party mode which is great if you have a load of mates round. There are 6 1-4 player games available to begin with and a further 6 are unlockable. The available 6 are as follows:
Fight – Great fun, manic fight game. 4 monkeys on a suspended arena trying to knock the others off. Each monkey has a big boxing glove attached and different power-ups are great fun. This ones my favourite.
Race – Reasonable racing game - a bit like the main game but a race around a track instead of to the finish. Not my favourite but ok with 4 players.
Target – The monkey ball rolls down a ski-slope and is propelled into the air. You then glide him to a landing pad collecting banannas along the way. The landing pad has a target on it with various scores to aim for. Good controls and great fun.
Billiards – Possibly the weakest of the available games, theres nothing wrong with it I just find it dull and long-winded.
Bowling – Fantastic bowling game with normal and crazy lanes. Great control system. You must judge direction, spin and power. This one's addictive and fun with great sound and visuals.
Golf – Very good golf sim but with monkeys in balls!! Great control, like the bowling. If it had more courses it would hold it's own as a stand-alone product. Brilliant flowing graphics.
There are six additional games that cost 2500 play points each to unlock - they're generally not very good but I'll run through them anyway:
Shot – Instantly forgetable on rails shooter that reminds me of old cabinet arcade games such as Operation Thunderbolt. Great graphics though.
Boat – Great visuals are let down by god awful controls. Using L and R to use ores is ridiculous. Nice water effects though and the wave race style viewpoint is good.
Tennis – Entertaining for a while but is to primative to hold my attention. Games seem to go on forever!!
Baseball – Amusing for about 5 mins then instantly forgettable. Some of these unlockable games apear to be merely an after-thought.
Soccer – This one just doesn't work for me. It's far too limited to hold my attention and the controls are a bit shoddy.
Dogfight – 3D flying shoot em up which is similar to sections of Lylat Wars and Rogue squadron. Easily the best of the unlockable games, I like this one - only with 4 players though.
Verdict:
Great game - very charming and well worth the £39.99 that I paid for It. Some of the unlockable games are a bit poor but this shouldn't put you off because - with the main game and at least 6 party games which are good - this package is very good value. I would reccommend it to anyone.

...the launch day I’ve had Super Monkey Ball and whenever a few mates have been around the house Super Monkey Ball has always been loaded up and played on. The simple game controls and fun party games makes it a hit with both the seasoned gamer and casual one plus even people who haven’t picked up a joypad in their whole life. As a single player game it also shone through with ingenious level designs that made it a tough, yet fair, challenge. It has ... ...game. The floors in Super Monkey Ball 2 are a lot less ‘natural’ than those in the original. AV have added switches, portholes and moving blocks to some of the floors. Some people will call this natural progression, as it is adding something new to the game, some will hate it. From my point of view it doesn’t ruin the game for me but it does make it, at times, far more harsh and unfair. In the original every time you fell off the floor you knew it ...

Monkeys. Balls. Surely the perfect combination. Surely. Unless there was cheese.

Anywho, there’s a big evil scientist Dr Bad-Boon (Who does, never worry, get nekkid during the game) has stolen all of Aiai’s bananas for no specific reason other than spite and, perhaps, monkey-lust after Meemee, Aiai’s wife. There’s also Baby and Gongon in the gang, out to stop Dr Bad-Boon.
They give chase to the evil doctor (how he got ... ...And have to roll their way around mazes to get the bananas back.
The main game consists of 10 stages of 10 levels each (100 levels, then) in which have have to tilt the level you’re on with the control stick in order to move you encased primate around instead of just moving the ball, as you may expect. And also a challenge mode - in which you have to take on 10, 30 or 50 levels without losing your 3 lives. The stages are all totally unique, some ...

Ok, the concept of getting a monkey in a ball around a maze is about as exciting as Harvest Moon's farming one, please, do not let this put you off!
If you're after a multiplayer game, look no further, this has it all! Not only does it have the standard maze puzzles to go around, you also get a catalogue of various mini games to play, here's some of what I regard to be the highlights:
Monkey Soccer: A very simple, yet very fun, soccer game involving ... ...they both make the monkey tackle.
Monkey Target: Glide your monkeys through various stages, collecting bananas and stars as you progress! Of course, fail to hit the target and all of your efforts will be in vain - amazingly good fun! Will keep you entertained for hours!
Monkey Tennis: As with the soccer, this is a very simple sports game consisting of only a few buttons - this doesn't stop to make it one of the most fun tennis games I've ever played!

Storyline
It just a normal day in your village until a big shadow covers the entire village in the dark; you then hear a voice who you know as the evil doctor badboon he then gets a giant vacuum and sucks out all the bananas that the villages and the only way you get them back is if Mimi marries him. They refuse and cast magic spell on themselves to get into they magic balls and now you set off to battle against the evil badboon and get the bananas ... ...to understand, you are in a ball and you have to get to the goal at the end of the stage without falling over the stage. There are a lot of game modes in this game as they is story mode where you go through 100 levels divided into 10 chapters of story clips,as you get futher in the game this levels stages go from easy to near impossible using poirtals and many things to get to that important end of level. the challenge mode where you must face levels ...

Monkey ball 2 is the ultimate sequel to the original monkey ball game. In the second monkey ball you must tilt the stages to move ur character who is trapped in a ball by the evil genius Dr Baboon. Monkey Ball 2 is a game which is not exactly hard but not a very easy game either…I myself find the "game cube" controllers very complex but I am getting to grips with them so the game is getting slightly easier! There are 4 playable ... ...largest of all 4!
This game is a strategically game with a little bit of adventure thrown in.
The game is very good for all ages starting from 3 years old….You can play the game in many different languages, some of which are, English-Swedish-german-french-and Japanese!
There are 4 different levels of difficulty- each ascending in difficulty through out each level. The 4th difficulty is, master which can only be unlocked once you have completed ...
