Advantages: Classic gameplay Disadvantages: Too hard!
...StreetFighter 2. The fighting game that popularised the genre, in much the same way DOOM did for the first person shooter. There were other similar games before, but none that did it so well as SF2. Iconic characters facing off and trading blows until one was knocked unconscious.
Hyper fighting is a version of SF2 I never actually encountered till I bought it. The one I played most was the superlative Super Nintendo version. Some of the additions here include the ability to play as the final four "Boss" characters, playing as the same character in VS mode, and some new moves for most of the characters. This version also features the standard LiveArcade additions, such as leaderboards, online multiplayer, and stupid borders around the screen.

Advantages: Classic beat-em-up Disadvantages: Now slow and outmoded
...When SFII came out on the SNES, it was big. It was huge. It threatened to blow away all competition from the Sega Megadrive, SNK's Neo-Geo etc., and totally monopolise the computer games market. It was the game that sold more Super Nintendo's than any other. It was far ahead of its time.
Nowadays it may seem incredibly slow, and the graphics are no longer some of the best available on any platform, but it does still have a great place in the computer games market, even if it is only in a historical fashion. The moves are still original and great, and it is still difficult when set at the right difficulty level. One of the original fantastic 1 or 2 player games, it has spawned numerous clones and a myriad of followups, upgrades, EX or Alpha or Beta versions, Turbo editions, editions with more characters along with some of the originals...

...On one of my first visits into an arcade store I came across this game in which strange things battered the hell out of each other. the transformation on to the console was a smooth one and the succes of this game on the super nintendo console has, in my opinion, not been surpassed. The quality of graphics on the big screen are simply fantastic and the sound effects are also quite entertaining. All in all, I thoroughly recommend this game, even though it has now been surpassed by other fighter games....
