...haven't been into my local Iceland for about 3 months. Yes, I know they have a few 'buy one get one free' offers. Or at least they had the last time I was there (around December 2001). But I went into Iceland yesterday and my jaw dropped to the floor. Everything seemed to be on buy one get one free or buy something and get loads of something else. You could buy some chicken for example and they would give you a bag of roast potatoes, some greens ...

I have a Sainsbury approx. two hundred yards and a Tesco approx. six hundred yards from my house. For many years I chose to shop at the nearer Sainsbury store. In recent years I have seen a decline in any pleasure (all be it little to start with cos I hate shopping at the best of times) derived from the experience in my local Sainsbury. ...to check out my local Netto store to see what they were like. When I got inside, it was an Alladin's cave of cheap, good quality food. They have quite a wide range of products including fruit and veg, frozen foods, alcohol and drinks and many other useful household products. Netto's own brands are very cheap but good quality, and I found some foods to be even better quality than Sainsbury's and Tesco. Netto also sells other brands but even these ...
