Feeding the enemy

Advantagesa novel idea, and the focus being more on the underweight side

Disadvantagesrepetitive, any segment featuring Gillian McKeith!

"There's no shortage of programs on TV about food, eating and weight, but this latest offering from Channel 4 had a bit of a spin: while the issue of obesity is tackled, the real focus is on being seriously underweight - which seems quite novel, to me! The idea is simple: take one seriously underweight person and put them in a house with a seriously overweight person, where they then swap plates at mealtimes (and snack times, and...!). It's not ..." Read review

Supersize vs Superskinny - an interesting diet swap show

AdvantagesA fresh look at diets showing that any extreme diet is bad for you

DisadvantagesReally quite gross in parts!

"This is a Channel 4 show in which two people with disordered attitudes towards food swap diets for a short period. The most recent episode saw two nurses swap diets. Gillian is a working mum who is around 2 stone underweight at only 6 and a half stone. Phillipa is the opposite, severely overweight at 26 stone. The programme is split between this story, fronted by Dr Christian Jessen and a presenter in LA looking at cosmetic surgery and the lengths ..." Read review

Just...Super

AdvantagesLooks at extreme diets and the effects it has on us

Disadvantagesn/a

"Supersize v Superskinny is a Channel 4 Documentary that brings one overweight person and one underweight person together in a diet swap. The pair live in the 'feeding clint' and have to eat exactly what their opposite eats in a typical day/ night/ early hours (in the case of the 'Supersizers'). I find it fascinating. Not only does it aim to teach a valuable lesson to both contestants as each learn that they can eat more/less, the documentary also ..." Read review

Do you feel supersize or superskinny inside?

AdvantagesA great show, highlights the dangers of under and over eating.

DisadvantagesSeeing all that food in the tube might just put you off your dinner!

"Supersize Vs Superskinny is an hour long programme which is currently being shown on channel 4 on Tuesdays at 8:00 - 9:00PM. The concept of the show is to take somebody who is dangerously underweight and somebody who is dangerously overweight. They are then put in to the feeding clinic for 5 days and will eat each others meals to grasp a concept of how what they are currently eating is very unhealthy for them. During the show the underweight person ..." Read review

Which one are YOU!

AdvantagesI weirdly like it, gives out a good message!

DisadvantagesMaybe the section mentioned in the review towards the end.

"This programme follows two different people with completely different diets. One is obese and the other is really skinny probably anorexic. The show tries to show us that both are just as bad as the other. They get weighed and measured at the start of the programme and then are shown the results. They are then shown the amount of food they both eat in a week, where both are shocked at how much and how little the other eats. I find this bit quite ..." Read review
