So it’s important to me that I use a deodorant that is highly effective, and will keep me dry and pong free even after a ten or twelve hour shift. (not that I do those very much these days!)

~ ~ Reading all the “write off” opinions over the last couple of days I couldn’t help but notice that if there is one thing above all others that is designed to ensure that you DON’T get a date with the lady of your dreams then it’s the aroma of stale sweat wafting out from under your armpits. It’s sort of hard to imagine that any fella these days would even consider NOT using some sort of deodorant, but I suppose there are still some Neanderthals out there. (Most probably “virginal” Neanderthals, if the write off opinions are anything to go by. heh, heh) Even as a youngster, and before deodorants became commonplace, I was very aware that there was nothing pleasant about stinky, smelly armpits, and used to use Johnson’s Baby Powder to keep my sweaty parts fresh and clean smelling. (I still do occasionally if we run out of anti-perspirant) I live an active lifestyle, and sitting in my taxi all day is a sure and tested method of working up a good sweat, especially in city traffic during the summer months. So it’s important to me that I use a deodorant that is highly effective, and will keep me dry and pong free even after a ten or twelve hour shift. (not that I do those very much these days!)
~ ~ You’re spoilt for choice nowadays, and the shelves of your local supermarket or pharmacy has literally dozens of different types and brands of deodorant that you can choose from. There are a number of very good ones, (and some not so good) but I personally have yet to find one that is as effective or long lasting as Sure. Or to be more specific, “Sure 24 Hour Intensive”. It’s a roll on, which I find far better than the aerosol spray variety, and until recently came in a small glass bottle. It has undergone a revamp now though, and the last time I purchased it in my local Boot’s, it had changed its appearance considerably, now coming in a very snazzy white plastic bottle, that is kind of wedge-shaped, with the usual big knob on the end for applying the contents. (Did that sound rude??) On the front is the boast, “unbeatable quick-dry protection”, and for once the advertisers don’t seem to be exaggerating. I use it every morning after my shower, and then simply forget about it for the rest of the day, as I know that whatever I’m up to that my armpits will remain in pristine and fresh condition for the next 24 hours. (Is that why they call it 24 hour Intensive, I wonder?) It doesn’t leave those awful white marks on your clothes either, like some deodorants have a tendency to do, and dries very quickly after application. On the back it tells you to be a bit careful if you have damaged skin, and not to apply it, otherwise you will get the same sensation as when you dab aftershave on a shaving nick. (not pleasant; the fellas will know what I’m on about!) There’s also a list of ingredients, (the boring bit) which I’ll give you at the end of the opinion.
~ ~ It comes in 50ml plastic bottles, and will cost you about the €2.20 mark (£1.36 Sterling) depending on where you buy it. The last time I bought some, Boots had a “three for the price of two” offer for €4.00, (£2.50 Sterling) so being the canny Scot that I am, I bought a dozen. This should last me for about the next year or more, as it does seem to last for ages. There are two different types, “Cool Pink” and “Cool Blue”. I’ve never tried the pink variety, as I assumed that the different colours were to differentiate between a masculine and a feminine perfume. It’s not an overpowering smell though, and simply smells clean and fresh. So if you’re currently having any problems with keeping the old armpits in good nick, then this deodorant comes with a very high recommendation from the ‘mad cabbie’.
Advantages: keeps you frsh Disadvantages: stings after shaving
...the till and purchasing the Sure 24 Hour Intensive Roll On in Source Flavour.
I thought the fragrance was similar to Watermelons and Sunflower perfume.
It was a refreshing summery smell.
The roll on came in a peculiar shaped bottle, it was white with a screw off lid, but it dinted in round the back, I presume it's for a better grip. The size was a normal 50 ml.
On the lid it said "New with Anti-Oxidants" whatever that meant, anybody who knows, ... ...my armipits.
I'm not too sure about the smell, I very quickly go off fragrances, it's a pleasant smell, but after using Dove Roll-On for months now, I do prefer that.
On Sunday night I was going to the Biggest event of the year, The Blues festival, I was in a rush and quickly shaved my armpits.
I forgot I had done so when I reached out for my Sure 24HR Roll-On.
I rolled it on my pits and owchhhhhh, that hurt so much.
It really did sting, I know ...

...deodorant, I came across the Sure 24 hour intensive roll on. Now I always have some problems with a deodorant whether it's the smell or lasting power etc -I'm sure most people can identify with this! Now this was just a random choice really as I hadn't tried it before. The pack has new design to the picture shown above-it is white with a green lid and green writing. There are different colours for each fragrance in the range.

I find that Boots are good for their 3 for 2 or buy one get one free offers so this is the best time to stock up if you find you like a product!
The ingredients list was fairly impressive actually! Only five in total : alcohol denat, aqua, aluminium zirconium pentachlorohydrate, parfum, and ...

Advantages: smells good, cheap Disadvantages: can sting on the skin
The Sure 24H Intensive products which I have seen and sampled are:
*Cool silk
*Cool blue
*Cool white
There are another two/three fragrances, which I do not know the name of because I have not tried them out. But because there are so many fragrances I will describe the brand Cool Silk to you, because that is my favourite and I have stuck with it for quite a while.
From the bottle, I see a product great for sporty people who go to the gym on a ... ...the new bottle I am sure contains the same, but it is longer and much more slim line so it can fit in bags. The white bottle has the same details on and logos as the old bottle.
As I said, the new one can fit in bags, my bottle is quite thick as you may see form the picture that they have for this product, it is hard to fit in handbags, but thank goodness for me I don’t use handbags but normal big bags so it’ll fit in there for me to ...

...a huge fan of the Sure range of products. They’re a well established name that produces a wide range of hygiene items including deodorant sticks, anti-perspirant sprays and roll-ons. My favourite is the stick type of deodorant as I find these very gentle but still very effective at doing the job. But when I can’t lay my hands on the stick, I always plump for the 24H Intensive roll-on. The deodorant applies very easily using the roller ... ...the spray-on varieties. Sure reassure you that their products are completely dermatologically tested but a word of warning, their products contain a lot of alcohol-based ingredients so anybody with very sensitive skin might find that they get a reaction. The complete list of ingredients are as follows:
Alcohol Denat, Aqua, Aluminum Zirconium Pentachlorohydrate, Parfum, Hydroxypropylcellulose, CI 14700 and CI 28440.

...rolling ball” bottle of: * Sure 24H Intensive*, 50ml. Setting me back £1.29.
It is presented in an efficient looking, clinically white bottle. (recyclable) The lettering is pale green and blue on a white background. It is from their new range, (and incidentally looks nothing like the picture on the product guide, but there we go….) with Anti-oxidants. The name they have given it is Source.
I have used Sure deodorants before and found them reasonably ... ...it is an anti-perspirant I had hopes that it is going to do its job.
So as soon as I got home, I whipped off my top and applied it liberally to the guilty area, and waited to see if I was going to cry (I shaved last night you see).
*Point one: It didn’t sting on applying (important point this)
*Point two: It actually smells really nice and fresh, not at all soapy and not too perfumed so as to clash with my normal Eau De Moi Choice.
*Point three: ...

Advantages: Non Disadvantages: Loads - irritant, stung on application, slow drying
I have used many deodorants throughout my lifetime and have often used Sure products. I bought this Sure for Men 24hintensive - SPort (fragrance) because it said it was "quick drying" - it isn't!! It is clear and unperfumed - which I prefer. However after a couple of days use I developed large brown rings on my underarms which I can only describle as looking like eczema. They were sore and I had to agreed that it was a severe allergic reaction to the deodorant. It has taken several weeks to heal up.
THe deorddorant, more often than not stung on application. It really is not a "user friendly" product. ...
Advantages: keeps you dry all day sweet smell Disadvantages: none
I have recently changed from using a cheap roll-on deodorant to using Sure24HIntensive and I am amazed at the difference in the way I feel.
Sure is an anti-perspirant deodorant which is extremeley flammable so its not to be placed near an open flame.
It leaves hardly any white powdery marks, well none on your clothes anyway and it doesnt flake off and fall out of your t-shirt sleeve either.
It has a very subtle and fresh fragrance that you can smell all day, and it keeps you so dry it is unbelievable.
It is Dermatologically tested and it is pH balanced so that it works in harmony with your body odour.
This deodorant can not be used if you have a cut or open sore under your arms as it will sting like hell, cause major irritation and make you scream.(I know this due to experience).
This deodorant cost me 1.89 which is ...
Advantages: Effective, clean and no mess! Disadvantages: None
It’s not just men who…er…erm…sweat! We ladies do too, a lot, although we prefer to think we ‘glow’ so a good and reliable deodorant is a must for today’s busy woman. I only discovered Sure's 24HIntensive Invisible Stick quite recently and have to say, I am very impressed!
I've used both roll-ons and spray type anti-perspirant deodorants and have tried just about every one ever made, but generally find that most do seem to cause minor irritation and itching from time to time being as my skin is so ultra sensitive. But not this one!
Rather than a roll-on, it is actually applied as a soft stick and is shaped to fit the contours of your body for easier application. And one of the best things about this product is that it causes none of those awful messy white marks that are so obvious when ...
