LAUGHTER IS: A MYSTERY!
Review of After all these years - Susan Isaacs by
Louizalass
Advantages: Funny and page turning
Disadvantages: None whatsoever
...friend, it would be her.
Susan Isaacs has a wonderful gift for one-liners and descriptive
phrases. The ability to create a sentence which paints a picture in a few words is a gift. I am going to quote the first couple of short paragraphs just to give you an idea why I decided to carry on reading:
лл 'After nearly a quarter of a century of marriage, Richie Meyers, my husband, told me to call him Rick. Then he started slicking back his hair with thirty-five-dollars-a-jar English pomade.
Okay, I admit I was annoyed. But in all fairness, wasn't Richie entitled to a mid-life crisis? He was just two years from fifty. His jaw wasn't so much chiselled from granite any more as sculpted from mashed potatoes. His hair-line and his gums were receding at about the same rate. And when his shirt was off, he'd eye his chest hair...

Prelude to Foundation - Isaac Asimov.
Review of Prelude to Foundation - Isaac Asimov by
Maximus-Qualitus
Advantages: Great read.
Disadvantages: None
...Prelude To Foundation.
Author - Isaac Asimov.,
Synopsis -
This book was written in 1988 and was the last Foundation book yet to be written. As with Star Wars not all 6 Foundation novels where written chronologically. It, as the name suggests, should be considered the 1st Foundation book.
At 460 pages long, here are just a few pointers to the virgin foundation reader.
The book wastes no time in introducing the reader to Hari Seldon, the mathematical genius of physcohistory. Which is the prediction of future events by mathematically understanding MASS human behavior.
Hari travels to Trantor to give a lecture but ends up meeting the Emperor Cleon 1 and his dangerous advisor Eto Demerzel.
The Emperor is skeptical but decides to keep hari under survalence. Hari visits a local park where he is almost mugged but rescued...

How does Susan Hill explore fear
Review of I'm The King Of The Castle - Susan Hill by
mad.man.560
Advantages: Very detailed book
Disadvantages: Very sad and dark
...I'm The King Of The Castle is a book by Susan Hill. It is about two young boys named Edmund Hooper and Charles Kingshaw. Kingshaw moved into a place called Warings which Edmund and his dad owns. This causes conflict between both of the boys. In the book you see Edmund Hooper mentally and physical torturing Charles Kingshaw to the extreme.
This review will explore how Susan Hill conveys fear in the book "I'm The King Of The Castle" by mentioning her techniques and pointing out some examples where she uses fear.
The first point in the book where Susan Hill uses fear is where the two boys meet each other for the first time.
They act like they are afraid of each other because they feel like each
other are invading there lives. The author uses snappy questions to express the fear because they don't really want to talk to each other...
