I wish I could find another one of these. I bought one about 5 years ago and it is the most powerful and handy little cleaner I have ever had. (And I\'ve had quite a few in my search, I can tell you.) The only thing I didn\'t find comfortable was the pipe and brush head, which I quite easily exchanged with my old hoover.
My helper has just cleaned our neighbour\'s house with this little Swan and she has a white cat, red carpet, a loft extention and lots of stairs. When she came home she said she\'s never seen it looking so good and her precious

OK it\'s not built to clean mansions, but it is most excellent for stairs. It is light, powerful and easy to use. Another advantage is that you can get disposable bags or stick with the two washable ones which come with it. In my experience the two washable ones are the best, although you may want to go for the disposable ones for quickness.
It's great for wood flooring and picks up cat fur from the carpet really well. Very surprising for such a little thing.
I want another one for downstairs.
