Advantages: Easy to use for people with rheumatism, and Arthritis. Disadvantages: Diffacult to cook with a round pan eg: a Wok.
...I have just brought my wife a new Gas cooker she has difficulty with her hands when cooking.
I chose a New World white Cotsworld Delux cooker.
I paid £245.00 from Currys.
This cooker has an eye level grill with two handles, a lot of the grills I looked at only had a single handle on the grill which makes it heavier, but with the two handles you can balance the weight, this is also helpful for the elderly has well.
There are four burners of three sizes one simmer, one fast, and two normal burners on the back.
This is an easy cooker to clean most dirt just wipes off with a wet cloth.
The oven door opens out from the right there is a long bar just below the top of the door in a gold finish, this bar makes it easy to open unlike some cookers which have the round handle type.
This cooker lights first time unlike some which you have to try...

Our kettle was a white, cordless Swan kettle and it had served us well ~ it had now earned its place in the Great Kettle Graveyard and was ready to pass the torch on to a new model….but now we faced the decision about what the worthy successor would be!
It seems that kettles come in all shapes, sizes and prices. We just wanted a kettle but the array on offer is pretty mind blowing. Finally we decided on another Swan kettle (our previous one had lasted well and had been very reliable up until last off) and this time we went for a rapid boil...

Advantages: Great for working families, Price, Easy to clean Disadvantages: None
...some of the liquid they advise you to remove the lid and place on the High setting, which might help.
Once your meal has been cooked, there is a keep warm setting so that if your meal is ready earlier than expected you can just keep it warm without over-cooking.
This particular Slow cooker is one of the most basic models around, but it is a great introduction to slow cookers, and and just £9.99 you can't grumble. This was with a £3 saving. Most slow cookers range from between £10 and up to £60. But no matter how much you spend they all basically do the same thing. My advise is to start with the cheaper model and once you are happy you can get one that suits you kitchen a bit more.
This Home-tek model is White, slightly oval, with a White Crock-pot and a clear glass lid. As with all models, the crock-pot does get very hot whilst cooking...

This slow cooker is well worth the investment. You can put the ingredients in before going to work in the morning, turn it on, and come home to a freshly cooked dinner.

Its hard to think what the thinking was behind this concert. It could well be as Nusrat often said he changes his music to suit the audiance. On this occasion it could well have been a step to far. Nusrats voice shines as... more
