Before the first game of this event, Sweden were a fair bet to qualify from this group. Their qualifying record was one of the best and, from an English point of view, most fans were grateful to them for beating Poland and giving England a chance to get in through the back door.
After games against an average Belgium and a bad Turkey, the question that arises must be exactly how did they qualify? There is without any doubt a lack of quality players in the side and it's equally obvious that Henrik Larsson is a long, long way from being match fit. Lundberg continues to prove what an over-rated player he is and, without the abilities of Larsson, the goalscoring threat is non-existant. Maybe England's problems are that bad, after all.
