Thornton's: Tempting Toffee Lovers Since 1925 Advantages: Probably the best toffee on the highstreet. Disadvantages: It's very bad for you... but it's still lush! Thornton's Special toffee is by far one of the finest toffees on the market. It contains no stabilisers or emulsifiers, no E numbers or odd sounding chemicals, just a good, wholesome mix of various sugars, vegetable oils and butter. The result of this is a gloriously home-made feeling product. When you open the packet, you find big, irregular lumps of toffee all stuck together in a large blob. Using your fingers to pry the pieces apart, you are instantly ... ...is not one of those rock-hard, perfectly shaped, mass produced products you wade through at Christmas. When you finally manage to extricate a chunk from the mass (getting your fingers utterly lagged in toffee in the process), you can immediately taste the 80-year heritage behind this Thornton's favourite. Chocolate Eclairs Advantages: Tastey Disadvantages: Lose your fillings ...sweets in Tescos. Cadbury Chocolate Elairs are chewy caramel sweets with a milk chocolate filling, and are probably my favourite chocolate based sweets, though the toffee can be quite hard to chew some times which has contributed to one of my fillings falling out. Beware! Advantages: Tastes nice Disadvantages: Excessive Diarohea! This toffee is very tasty - no doubt about it and you hardly even realise it is Sugarfee (I am a diabetic) BUT and this is a very big but..... (ha ha no butt jokes!) anything more than 2 little bits of this and I get diarohea like nothing else! Its awful! sorry maybe too much information but you have to be warned! It does say on the packet that excessive consumption may cause a laxative effect but 2 small chunks is not excessive and maybe I do have ... ...had 4 pieces on a Friday and it was terribly bad I actually had to go home from work.. honestly... that bad! Not something I will be popping in my pocket Advantages: Great packaging; ideal treat for on the go Disadvantages: The chocolate is cheap and nasty My colleague at work comes in every morning buzzing due to the amount of sugar she eats. I wasn't therefore surprised to find she had been munching on poppet’s all morning and had even bought me a box of 'Payne’s Toffee Poppet’s' - not my favourite of the range but none the less, I was grateful. Poppet’s are old skool retro chocolate which I remember being stashed in my lunch box at school (what would Jamie Oliver say?! :-P ) The design on the ... ...Poppet’s are little chocolate coated balls of either: Toffee; Mint; Orange; raisin or the newest edition of cookie cream. I really think they should invent a strawberry one! They come packaged in boxes of different colours. The old design simply has 'POPPETS' written in bubble writing across the front with CG pics of Poppet’s floating around on the front. England's Finest Toffee, + Win a bar of your own! Free Food! Advantages: Ludicrously tasty, Irrisistable. Attractive packaging. Disadvantages: I had some problems seperating the bar into sections, maybe they want you to eat it all at once? This is a review for Walkers Nonsuch Toffee Origional Creamy Bar. Walkers Nonsuch sells many different types of toffee but this is the only one I feel I can write a review on at the moment.
