Advantages: Just the one key. Disadvantages: Not really.
This type of "Keyed alike" padlock is very useful, especially where you need two or three locks, having just the one key makes life that bit easier. Just remember that the inside of the padlock is steel, so it requires oil now and then - The size of keys may be important to you, these are a lot smaller than those provided with conventional locks, also they are very cheap nowadays - They do provide a visible deterrent, especially if they are a good sized chunk of shiny metal.
I fitted a row of three of these on the in-laws shed, these particular locks were made by Legge, although there are hundreds of different manufacturers.The shed looks like Fort Knox, it looks very secure indeed, although in reality, all the locks are fixed to the same piece of flimsy wood. Being practical, it is an easy job to undo all three locks ...

SWEEX Keychain.
I ordered this for myself and, at first, it worked very well - so much so, that I ordered up several more as gifts.
The I went on holiday for two weeks, came home, turned on the keychain, and it had simply stopped working - no amount of re-setting and re-starting, as per the instructions, made any difference. That was at the beginning of June 2008.
Emailed Sweex and, after some weeks, got a response, in Dutch. Replied, asking if they could please explain in English, then got back the same suggestions as contained in the manual (which I had told them I had already tried, with no success)
Several more emails. Sweex told me to send the keychain to Giant Gadget, a company in England, which I did.
After about 3 months of emailing them backwards and forwards, with very slow responses (like 5 weeks to reply to an email ...

Over all I think that this product is a great security feature to have to your laptop, even though it won?t stop it being stolen all together as aforementioned. But, in preventing simple removing the laptop whilst no one is looking, it does this task well.
Overall a simple prevention to a common problem and well worth the money as this product is built to serve and last. (The lifetime grantee also helps the decision along I think)
I also think that they do bulk ones for networks, and businesses which come with individual keys for each lock, but also a master one which is useful. ...
