Switch is a unique game, in that it doesn't follow the whist or rummy format, nor is it a variation of poker or brag. Any number can play but if there will be more than about 8 players, an extra pack of cards must be used. Whether the extra pack of cards has the same design on the back as the first pack, is irrelevant. The speed of the game is such, that there shouldn't be time to work out the probability of a player holding a particular card, based on the difference in the back of the card.
I have played Switch as man and boy for nigh on half a century and it makes a nice change from all the other card games that abound. Played in the right spirit Switch can cause endless fun and laughter for all the players, even those who are losing.

This is not a plug for you to visit my web site nor is it the place to explain how the game is played but I know a place where you can find out how to do that and it doesn't cost anything. Go to my web site at:- http://www.jambutty17.freeserve.co.uk Knock on my front door and from the bookshelf in my front room pick the first book on the left on the second shelf. The light blue one half hidden by the table top.
You could of course go to your local library and search the reference section for books on card games but I don't think that you will find this game in any of them. Even in the book by the great Hoyle there is no mention of Switch. So to the best of my knowledge there is no written word published on a variety of card games that I know, which is why I wrote the book and put it on the 'net as publishers in England weren't interested.
Advantages: good addition to the train route Disadvantages: none
We need to construct the track before we go on our Brio train journey. A simple circle may suffice for a beginning but it gets a bit boring just going round and round so add some straight track and a T switch A t switch will enable your train to change direction or reverse down that siding . You could of course go straight on.
The T switch pack includes the t switch and a short piece of straight rail too the track Length is 216 mm
The t switch is a piece of this wooden track it looks more like a Y really as apart from the straight track that carries on the other two track lines are curved one to leave the straight track one to join it.. Brio wooden train pieces fir together with male and female joining parts.
This piece of track will add lots more interest to the basic track and the make believe travel scenarios are endless ...
Advantages: Brightly coloured; nice idea Disadvantages: Very annoying and noisy
on the funnel. The train then makes a ?Choo Choo? noise and then a ?Chug-a-chug-a? noise until it hits a buffer then it goes ?Choo Choo? again and so on. Unless you press the funnel again to switch the train off it will continue until its batteries run out.
Age Recommendation
The manufacturers state that this toy is suitable for children over one. I gave it to my son when he was eleven months old and he was perfectly able to play with it. I think that children may not get the full benefit of this toy until they are a bit older than a year because it is quite tricky to put the train on the track as you have to line the wheels up and younger children will be unable to do this themselves. However, if you set it all up for them and start the train going then they can enjoy watching it.

adaptor is included with the console, but you will have to purchase a scart lead. Similarly you can connect with a scart lead to a VCR machine. As I have audio/video sockets, I used that method and simply switched my TV to AV2 by the remote and we were ready to go.
The V-smile learning system requires power by either battery or an AC adaptor, however neither are provided with the console and have to be bought separately. I hadn't realised this and found it quite annoying, in particular Vtech insist you use their own adaptor which costs an additional £10!. As I didn't have one and my daughter was keen to play, I used batteries (4 x AA). I have changed the batteries in the console twice in 2 years, however this has very little to do with the machine using little power and more to do with it having very little use.
Finally, the V ...
