If my opinion is read and earns me 1p, I will return the complement. If my opinion is read and DOES NOT earn me 1p, I MAY NOT return the complement. Sorry but my time is precious. I expect nothing different in return.

The basic method of playing Switch is the same the world over, although the choice of penaltycards does vary and in doing so causes untold confusion. I understand that this game has other names but I don't know what they are.
Switch is a unique game, in that it doesn't follow the whist or rummy format, nor is it a variation of poker or brag. Any number can play but if there will be more than about 8 players, an extra pack of cards must be used. Whether the extra pack of cards has the same design on the back as the first pack, is irrelevant. The speed of the game is such, that there shouldn't be time to work out the probability of a player holding a particular card, based on the difference in the back of the card.
I have played Switch as man and boy for nigh on half a century and it makes a nice change from all the other card games that abound. Played in the right spirit Switch can cause endless fun and laughter for all the players, even those who are losing.
This game was a real favourite on board ship as everybody could join in.
This is not a plug for you to visit my web site nor is it the place to explain how the game is played but I know a place where you can find out how to do that and it doesn't cost anything. Go to my web site at:- http://www.jambutty17.freeserve.co.uk Knock on my front door and from the bookshelf in my front room pick the first book on the left on the second shelf. The light blue one half hidden by the table top.
You could of course go to your local library and search the reference section for books on card games but I don't think that you will find this game in any of them. Even in the book by the great Hoyle there is no mention of Switch. So to the best of my knowledge there is no written word published on a variety of card games that I know, which is why I wrote the book and put it on the 'net as publishers in England weren't interested.
Another "switch" player. I used to play with my grandfather, and it was also good fun, even if I lost every single hand. Mind you, picking up 8 cards used to be a bit of a bummer on occasions.
