Sykes Holiday Cottages... |

I recently spent the most wonderful weekend near Alton Towers with my wife, 3 children and 2 grandchildren plus my grandaughters' boyfriend. As my Christmas present to the family, Sykes Holiday Cottages certainly came up trumps in finding me The Old Barn. It was everything I had hoped for - plenty of room for us all to enjoy evenings together around the roaring open fire after wonderful days out. The facilities and equipment at the cottage were way above our expectations with the best equipped kitchen I have ever found to cater for our large party. We all felt at home as soon as we walked into the warm and cosy atmosphere of the whole cottage and appreciated the wine, flowers and basic provisions kindly left for us by the owners. I had great confidence in Sykes from the moment I spoke to a very friendly and most helpful girl in their office. In fact, I think she specially ordered the fabulous snow for us for that weekend as well !!! Will definitely use Sykes again for any future UK cottage holidays.

I think a few more practical details might help this - maybe you could add something about the price you paid, were you able to book exactly the week you wanted or did you have to negotiate? Was the kitchen equipped with extras like washing up liquid, tea towels etc or did you have to provide your own? Were the bedrooms big enough for your needs, did you think the bedclothing looked clean and laundered, how basic (or extravagant) was the furniture? Was there a living room and did it have adequate furniture or any extras that you could use for entertainment ie. TV, stereo, books, games?

Amazing! Yet another glowing review of Sykes Holiday Cottages. And it's not even holiday season yet. If I were a more cynical person, I might think these reviews had all been placed by staff of Sykes Holiday Cottages!
