And Avast could detect many trojans and spyware that Norton failed to detect due to its heruistic system. (And Norton also detected a few trojans which Avast failed to detect. But when I scanned these same files using eTrust Antivirus which is there in my company, it failed to detect these as viruses). Also whenever Norton detected any virus it would show the same message in a circle. That virus message 1, then 2, then 3, then 4, ....then 10, then some gap, then again to 1 and so on. (.exe) file. When I downloaded the free edition, I think it was about 5MB to 6MB in size. I only have dial up so this took a while. Once this is dowloaded, the proram installs itself in pretty much the same way as other programs.
Is AVG AntiVirus easy to use?
Once installed, the program looks rather simple and doesnt look up to much. Let me tell you that this is certainly not the case! You have the option to run a 'complete test' or a 'removable media test'. I ave only ever run the 'complete test'. The program then goes through the files on your pc and picks out viruses and diallers. For example, this program picked up 58 dialler programs that Norton missed. I believe that norton anti-virus really isnt the best you can get for your money.
i bought this from my local computer superstore roughly 2 months ago, and i can honestly say il never buy norton again.
it takes way too much computer memory and can slow down your system a hell of alot! not only this, but it doesnt always install correctly and it's also pretty useless. it hasnt picked up a single spyware or virus on my computer since i bought it, yet a free anti-spyware software i got included in my google package picks up 20-30 infections a week! i had to get some live assistance when i first installed norton because a component didnt install correctly.
it was a 10 minute wait and the responses were slow and painstaking.
it's got alot of variety when it comes to features, but only about 2 of these actually need to be used ...
