I did feel slightly dopey and sleepy but nothing major and that could be put down to the fact I never get enough sleep! I took them 6 hourly that day and headache was completely gone when I got up to do nightshift with Sam later that night.
I have used them several times since and again they have cured the headaches quite well, only once they didn’t do the job so being me I thought right I’ll take 3 then, god I was so off my face my husband was present and thought it hysterically funny that I couldn’t put a sentence together and completely monged out if you didn’t speak to me for longer than 10 seconds but yes it did clear the headache. He did however have a hell of a job getting me up later to do the night shift, in fact he couldn’t wake me for an extra 2 hours after the normal time, so be WARNED don’t take 3 unless you are going to bed for at least 12 hours.
The only grumble I have about these tablets is that they do leave you with a slight hangover effect but to be honest this could be coming from the bad headache itself. I also suffer from neck spasms sometimes courtesy of some D***head who drove into my car a few years ago and gave me severe whiplash. These tablets are also good for these but only in minor attacks, only diazepam works in a bad attack where my head jerks violently forward from the spasm in my neck. Fortunately this has only happened twice since accident touch wood!!
Syndol can only be bought over the counter at chemists but you can get them at tesco, Boots and most good chemists. The tablets are designed for tension headaches and are quite fast working compared to some others I have taken. I am going to list all the ingredients now, get ready to yawn lol
450g paracetamol BP, 10mg Codeine PhosphateBP, 5mg Doxylamine Succinate NF, 30mg Caffeine Bp, also contains E104, E110 and yellow FA4149. It does NOT contain aspirin.
It states on the box that children over the age of 12 can use it and the dosages stated are
Adults and children over 12 years 1-2 tablets 4-6 hourly, Do not exceed 8 tablets a day and do not take for prolonged periods. Warning do not drive or operate machinery as can make drowsy but I think as with many cases it can only affect some people this way but it does have to warn of this.

Although they DO have to give the warning, it is a fact that medications such as this and even cold and allergy medications can cause you to be charged with drugged driving, so NEVER drive if any trace remains in your system (such as while the hung over feeling is there). You will get a driving ban. I know someone who did.
