Advantages: Holds the record/Loud output/Long life/Easy to put onto cartridge Disadvantages: None that I can think of
...year.
If you scratch, you will get 3-6 months use, out of each stylus.
Application:
Just slide onto the tip of the cartridge.
Maintenance:
If I see some dust collect on the needle, I simply pick it off carefully with my fingers.
If you're hardcore, you can use the mini-brush kit provided with the cartridge in the box-set in comes in.
Feel:
Not stiff, but not super-fast either.
Most suitable for CLUB DJ's who want high output and superior hold.
* Although this model is called "Scratch" these are not for Dj scratch competitions. Just watch any DMC video and you'll see the Dj use Sure styluses and cartridges.
But these styluses really hold the record and for a CLUB DJ, this is essential;
too much vibration on the turntables from bass causes the stylus to slide off the record and this happens in some clubs.
This is extreemly imortant...

...had a pair of these now for about 4/5 years and they r still going
strong.
they are a very sturdy and powerful turntable (i think the torque is somewhere around 5-6kgs) which i think is either two or three times that of the technics turntables, which makes it a lot easier when mixing your next record. i also like the fact that you can change the tone arm from the original s shaped arm to the straight arm which is great for scratching, there is also reverse, the ajustable start and stop which is ok but not very useful, there is the adustable pitch, the quartz lock and the extra bpm setting of 75 bpm. all in all i'd have to say that this is a great product at a reasonable price...

Advantages: Great Torque, s-shaped arm, key lock, neon lights!!! Disadvantages: Not as user friendly as the Technics
...of the vinyl it starts playing where as on lesser models you have to give it a second or two to gert the record upto speed.
This is good because it is easier to "cue up" songs (hold and release a track on the right beat) for mixing and also makes for good scratching as you know the record is going to pull against your hand hard.
Straight and S-shaped arms included: Good because the s-shaped arm does not fit on all deck types. You get both free with these decks. The s-shaped arm is better for scratching as it hold the record at an angle so when scratching you should (and in my experience this is true) not get much skipping of the track your scratching.
Straight arms are the standard for non scratching dj's and some say are easier to use, although I much prefer my s-shape for scratching reasons.
Interchangable pitch faders and button cartridges...

I think Baby Record Books are wonderful, an easy way to write down all those little details of childhood in the one place. I think they are just as important as the photo albums full of sun-kissed chubby cheeks. They are an invaluable record of a time... more
