Digital-imaging technology took a significant leap forward with the introduction of model 464. The newest member of TravelScan family and the industry's first 600 dpi high resolution truly portable A4 color scanner that interfaces to any standard USB port. The 600 dpi resolution provides the high quality of output for photo scanning and the better OCR quality. The TravelScan 464 is a lightweight (390g) mobile scanner that requires no external power adapter. Its USB port connection feature allows for a fast and easy one-cable hook up to your notebook or desktop PC and the unique "launch" button starts your imaging application instantly.
Miscellaneous
Cables Included: 1 x USB cable - 1.5 m
Compliant Standards: FCC Class B certified, CE, BSMI, VCCI Class B ITE
Advantages: Fantastic looking, well made and well designed case, great price. Disadvantages: Bit too showy for some, can't 'lock' colours on bubbletubes.
...INTRODUCTION
A while back, I decided it was time to dispose of my boring old beige computer case in favour of something a little more stylish to fit into my futuristic (at least I’d like to think it is!) room.
So, cue eBuyer.com as usual (my first stop for everything computer-related these days due to their great range and prices, despite the non-existent customer service) - and they came through as usual with this beauty from Super Flower of Taiwan.
I chose the case on the strength of reviews already on eBuyer and the picture of it. I paid just over £30 for the case which, when you consider the range of accessories included (though there is no PSU supplied) and the quality of the case, is quite incredible. Even more incredible is that it’s now little over £20! (excluding delivery).
THE CASE
The Super Flower SF-464T2-S...

Advantages: Fast set up (Mac OSX), excellent print quality and good price Disadvantages: Risk of hernias or slipped discs from carrying it
...'t have to feed it very often, so it being hidden away isn't a major problem.
SET-UP
The first task is to remove all the travelling tape which holds all the doors, flaps and moving bits together. Take your time on this as there are a couple of bits hidden under the toner cartridges. This done, you then get to load the toner.
This printer ships with 4 starter cartridges (black, cyan, magenta & yellow) they print around 1500 sheets at 5% coverage (yet to prove this). This is a feature that none of the others on my list offered, meaning I would have had to shell out a further £250 just to get started.
Replacement cartridges for the c510 come in standard (3,000 pages @ 5% coverage) and high yield (5,000 pages @ 5% coverage). The prices are quite low for toner cartridges in comparison to the other models I looked at. In store they were £79...

Advantages: reasonable high spec, plenty of USB ports, wireless LAN, firewire, very good price Disadvantages: missing operatin system CD-ROM for that batch, took a long time to get it
...I bought this system back in August from ASDA electricals (on behalf of Elonex) for £464.95 (+ £12 delivery charge) with standard 1 yr warranty. The system arrived 3 days later. Around that time only and at that price I got AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ Dual Core Processor, integrated 256mb PCI Express Graphics card and 7.1 Surround Sound, 2GB DDR2 667Mhz RAM, 320GB Maxtor DiamondMax 21 SATA-II Hard Disk, 18x Samsung DVD-Rewriter Multiformat inc. dual layer, 20" LCD monitor with speakers, Multi-Card Reader, Microsoft Keyboard & Optical Mouse. The Operating system (OS) is XP Home (XP Pro would be nice, XP Pro 64-bit even better). All software and drivers are pre-installed. The system is ready to run and doing well until one day I wanted to install some foreign fonts for my web browsers. It asked for the system CD-ROM and it is missing...
