for Men - Stainless Steel - Quartz Analogue - Water Resistance: 200 metres - Black Dial - Sapphire Crystal Glass Face - Fold Over Clasp - Features: Chronograph, Count
(+) Arguably the best looking mens watch ever. Large clear display, Solar powered,Enough functions to keep you informed/amused forever. (-) Not G-Shock nor Atomic clock (via radio signal) contolled. You certainly need instuctions here as well.
...I started looking at the Tag range again - actually if the truth be known I'd always been looking it was just that I had enough money to be spending it on expensive watches. The one I plumped for was the Series 2000 Exclusive Automatic. Being automatic it winds itself up and so never has a battery that needs replacing. It was only about £100 more than the Quartz model, but when you consider the battery changes are £40 a go I felt it was worth it. ... ...couple of battery changes and it's already not far off paying for itself.
Now a lot of people say why spend all that money on an expensive watch - well 2 reasons for me really - 1, it's a piece of jewellery at the end of the day and look how much people spend on that. 2. It's an investment. I have owned this watch for 3 years now and could easily get what I paid for it if I sold it second hand, maybe more. I wouldn't dream of selling ... more
I've been a watch fan since as long as I can remember, and have always had an eye for the more expensive end of the market. My obsession - and it is an obsession - with Tag's started early on and imagine my joy on my 18th birthday when I was presented with one - A Formula 1 watch, with a rubber strap in bright blue - I loved that watch, it served me well for 17 - yes 17 years. In fact I still have it now and it keeps time as well today as it did when new. In all that time it's probably only had 4 batteries as well.
When I grew a little more wealthy, and looking for a smarter watch, it was no surprise that I started looking at the Tag range again - actually if the truth be known I'd always been looking it was just that I had enough money to be spending it on expensive watches. The one I plumped for was the Series 2000 Exclusive Automatic. Being automatic it winds itself up and so never has a battery that needs replacing. It was only about £100 more than the Quartz model, but when you consider the battery changes are £40 a go I felt it was worth it. The batteries generally last ages on these, but only a couple of battery changes and it's already not far off paying for itself.
I wouldn't dream of selling mine, but if you buy one of these and it's in your mind it's important to remember to keep the box and all the paperwork with your box (also buying it from an authorised dealer in the first place).
The watch itself is made out of a solid block of stainless steel and so the only places that can leak water are the back, the face and the crown. The glass and back are vacuum sealed, and the crown is screw in, which all in all makes this a very water tight watch. The manufacturers claim is it will withstand a depth of 200 metres. I can't verify this, but I have dived to 35 metres with it and had no signs of any problem. Whilst this isn't really a true diving watch it does have the uni-directonal bezel that is ratched and only turns in one direction, so in theory could be used.
The strap is also made from stainless steel and you only have to pick the watch up to feel the quality. The strap also has a safety claso to prevent it coming undone accidentally. The glass is a Sapphire Crystal glass, which means it is scratch resistant. I wear this watch daily and it has had some real bumps, drops and scrapes and in all that time no harm has come to it. The only time I've had to adjust the time is when the clocks change or I've been in a different time zone as the time keeping is exceptional. There is also a date feature at the 3 o'clock position, although this doesn't account for changes in months, so when it's a 30 (or even 28) day month you do have to change the date, although none of this running the time round to get the date to change as there is a seperate notch on the crown for changing the date.
The final bit of praise (and if you need any convincing) I can give you about this watch comes from my wife. She, like many others, really couldn't understand me wanting to pay so much for a watch, but being the loving caring little darling that she is, knew how much I wanted it and relented (The diamond ring she got probably helped as well!). 3 years down the line she's seen the light - she's acknowledged the value aspect of it, has seen how solid and reliable it is and has asked me to buy her one (with diamonds of course!).
...the readies for a “bottom-of-the-range” TAG Heuer. Even a budget TAG puts a severe strain on the old wallet. Five hundred and fifty big ones in 1996 wiped the smile off my face. Ah well, it comes it goes. Officially it's a 2000 series “professional” (that's what it says on the face) and it's supposed to be waterproof to a depth of 200 metres. Difficult to prove really, so I'll just take their word for it. Mind you, if it ever leaks in the bath I'll ... ...its first trip back to TAG to have the battery replaced. You can't just waltz into the nearest watch shop and have 'em stuff a battery in. Oh, no. If anyone who doesn't have a TAG sign stamped on his or her forehead tries to bugger with it they will invalidate the warranty and all sorts of horrible things will happen as a result, or so they would have you believe. Forty quid for a battery tends to make your eyes water a bit but on the plus side a ...

...9 I acquired a fake Tag Heuer watch for £5 from an undesirable at a local market and I thought it the bees knees until it then proceeded to die on me about a week later never to tell the time in this mortal realm again.
Fast-forward 15 years and my obsession with Tag Heuer watches was still strong and after receiving a hefty bonus I decided that I would treat myself to a Tag Heuer 2000 series. I decided upon this watch to satisfy my obsession, the ... ...Tag terms costing £525.
I have attached a picture of the watch below - it is made from stainless steel, the face having a diameter of 3.4cm and protected by nearly 1 cm of shockproof glass. The face is black, the hands being made again from stainless steel and another luminous material making them stand out during the daytime and a warm glowing green at night. The strap is very chunky and secured by a double locking fold over clasp - This clasp ...

...Movado last year, and the Tag this year. The Seiko face didn't scratch so easy, but the band showed everything that I brushed against, as well as the Movado did, it shows every single scratch no matter how miniscule, and they are not meant to look like they are worn everyday and worn. Then I got the Tag, and I have to admit that I didn't think I would like it at first, because it is a little harsher looking than the Seiko or Movado, almost like a ... ...it has shown no scratches on the face or band, it still looks like I just put it on, which says a lot for me! Overall, I think the Tag 2000 is a great watch, simple yet elegant, and extremely sturdy and reliable. This is a great watch!! ...
