My favourite restaurant ever. Its only competitors are Ask and Zizzi's. Maybe Sabai.
The menu caters for every palette, from comfort-food battered chicken BLT to a flavour sensation of JD sticky ribs and burgers. I went here with my partner the day after Valentine's and I had the vegetarian quasadilla. Absolutely delicious. The wrap was light and crispy, the vegetables were beautifully seasoned and caramelised. I'm a fan of spicy food and this dish tingled the tastebuds without being overpowering.
My partner had a plain cheeseburger as he's a fussy eater. The chips that came with the burger were lightly seasoned with salt and pepper, which he loved. It was a small detail, but it really was a nice touch.
The cocktails were lovely as well. I only tried the Mai Tai, but it was a generous amount for the money. In fact, it was so tasty I had two! My poor partner had to escort me back to the car where I was ever so slightly stammering on my high heels.
We didn't have a dessert, but we shared a plate of onion rings and garlic bread. The onion rings were wonderfully crisp and had a molten onion centre, whereas the garlic bread was crunchy with a lovely gooeyness from the cheese and a kick from the garlic and herbs.
The atmosphere was very relaxed as the restaurant was dimly lit in the evening hours. There was a birthday party the level above us, but luckily their excitement didn't deter from the evening. On top of that, the service was absolutely fantastic. Our drinks and starters were sorted within ten minutes of our arrival and the main course was with us within the same hour.
American food as it's best I believe. I've only been to four American restaurants, but I would easily say TGI Fridays is definitely the best of them.
