Well I’ve always been known for liking change, and the way I express my creative flair is through the different ways in which I experiment with my hair. The first time I did my hair I turned it a tippex white colour! Which I must admit I loved greatly at the time, in fact it was a DIY (Do-It-Yourself) jobby-like most things I do in my life :-P- which made me love it even more so! I have experimented with my hair so much that I have had a variety of colours; to name a few I can remember: orange, white, green, pink grapefruit, varying stages of blonde, varying stages of brown etc. Yet one day I woke up, looked in the mirror and thought ‘OH MY GOD YOU LOOK A COMPLETE AND UTTER STATE’ this was the day I wised up and decided that my hair was best left in the hands of the professionals, the hairdressers!
Still having my creative spark, the need to experiment remained and I ended up with the hair colours that you can see in my ciao picture (you can’t see it all, but my hair is A LOT longer and it has the stripes all the way round with the reddy-browny colour for the under-half of my hair. Now, due to the fact I dye my hair about every 4 months and that I straighten my hair daily I needed a shampoo that offered colour protection, protection from the use of heated styling implements, protection from frizz, one that helps to straighten hair and one that actually cleans my hair!!! I was recommended to use this shampoo by TIFFS hair salon in Dartford. Obviously, I purchased it from their hair salon and I have to admit this is quite frankly the BEST shampoo I have used to date (as you will find out why in my opinion)!
About Bed Head TIGI Control Freak Shampoo --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This shampoo can come in a variety of sizes. In a promotional offer that TIFFS hair salon was having I managed to by 1 litre of TIGI Bed Head Control Freak Shampoo and 1 litre of TIGI Bed Head Control Freak Conditioner for £25. This was a bargain compared to most salon prices and both bottles managed to last me 6 months (this is with washing my hair every other day). This works out cheaper then buying most other brands of shampoo and conditioner from your local retailers and high street shops. However, this promotional offer did run out (much to my dismay) and I had to purchase their products at normal price!!! As shown in the picture that is what the normal sized TIGI Bed Head Control Freak Shampoo looks like; for this you get 350 ml of shampoo at the cost of £6.85, which is not an extortionate price to pay. This shampoo bottle is still just over halfway full and I use this every other day and have done for the past 2 months!!! So I believe that you do get value for money.
This shampoo is sold only at hairdressers, but you can buy this product online (web address details can be found at the end of the opinion). It is suitable for people who want to protect their coloured hair, who want protection from frizz and want a shampoo that will help to straighten their hair out.
What does the product look like? -----------------------------------------------------------------
As you can see in the picture the shampoo is of a slightly paler then lime green colour and is contained in a sports drink bottle style container. The lid is a pull open one (very much like the Vittel water bottles) which is handy as none of the shampoo gets leaked out this way. It is also easier to squirt out the desired amount you wish to use. Unless you get a promotional offer you will receive your shampoo in a 350ml bottle, which promotes this style. The one-litre bottles simply have a normal flip open lid like standard shampoo bottle and the lid is black for the one-litre bottles whereas for the 350ml bottles the cap is silver. The product’s packaging is pretty standard in the style of the writing on the product is simply written in black but it is trying to be revolutionary with the style of the lid as already described. I also like the fact that the bottle is see-through so that you can see how much of the shampoo you have used or how much is left (depending on if you are an optimistic or a pessimistic person :-P) so you can prepare yourself for when to buy your next bottle!!!
Okay, Tell Me About Your Experience Of The Shampoo And How To use the shampoo to gain maximum effect --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now, the packaging directions state:
‘Wet hair thoroughly, lather and rinse. Repeat as necessary…’ I have removed the next bit as it basically states to follow up with other products, which are irrelevant to the use of the shampoo! Now I have what I would class as long hair, although it is layered the longest length is halfway down by back!!! I simply use one squirt form the bottle, massage it into my hair and leave it in place for a minute whilst it fully lathers and is allowed to work its ‘magic’. I only use one shampoo as I find that my hair is what would be classed as ‘normal’, it doesn’t get greasy too quickly and therefore I wash my hair every other day.
This shampoo is incredibly thick in texture, it can feel a tad gunky and gooey but this I did not find off putting as it allowed the shampoo to lather up more easily and that you could, in fact, use less shampoo then you would normally need to by other brands. The smell of the shampoo is appealing; it smells like ‘green fruits’ by this I mean a mixture of apple, lime and pear. The smell remains strong after washing it off and seems to last until the next shampoo! Upon washing it, whilst my hair was still wet it felt instantly smoother and calmed. It also felt soft to touch, there were also no knots in my hair and my hair seemed to fall straight- although this could be due to the heaviness of my hair being wet! Yet the texture of my hair was noticeably smoother and indeed whilst towel drying my hair their were less static pop-ups!
How did my hair feel and look after using TIGI Bed Head Control Freak Shampoo? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now, as I have already stated, whilst my hair was still wet it felt much more smoother and there were no knots. My comb simply glided through my hair easily. This was unusual as normally after using other shampoos my hair remains knotty and looks like cave-girl’s :-O Now, as I was towel drying my hair I hair didn’t receive as many static pop ups as I normally do. Now I normally blow dry my hair prior to straightening it and this shampoo did dry my hair a lot straighter then it normally does. As my hair is layered the ends normally flick out but they did indeed dry straight and not flicky!!! I also didn’t have to use my hair straighteners as intensely as I normally do. I simply had to run them over my hair for a few minutes and it was poker straight and remained this way for the rest of the day. My hair felt very soft and yet it remained in place. Unlike the gunky feel of the shampoo my hair did not feel clogged up or greasy; it felt styled and defined, there were no flyaway strands nor were there any frizzy bits of hair to be seen!!! It is great for colour protection as I last dyed my hair in February and the colour still looks as strong and bold as it does the day I had it done in the salon!
How long will a bottle of TIGI Bed Head Control Freak Shampoo Last? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As already stated, the promotional one litre TIGI Bed Head Control Freak Shampoo bottle I bought lasted for around 6 months and I bought this with a one-litre TIGI Bed Head Control Freak conditioner bottle, which cost £25 in total!!! This is good value for money I feel as it does do the job that it proclaims to do and it does last a long time and when you compare it to the cost of other high street brands, it is on par if not cheaper then those costs and this is a professional salon shampoo as used by most hairdressing salons, so you expect to receive quality performance-which you do.
When you buy it as a 350 ml bottle it costs £6.85, which is still good value for money and I have had this bottle for over two months now and it is still over halfway full! But I do wash my hair every other day and I do not use greater then a two-pence pieced coin size per wash but my hair is quite long (the longest length being half-way down my back). So for people with shorter hair the shampoo will last even longer!!!
Now I think this shampoo offers superb value for money especially seeing as it is a shampoo that can only be bought in hairdressing salons or online. It is not available in everyday high street shops or supermarket chains such as Boots and Sainsbury’s. It also lasts a long time and does do the job that it promises to do: to straighten hair, to protect coloured hair and to promote greater endurance and boldness of coloured hair, to prevent frizz and to protect hair when using heated styling implements.
It does provide a higher quality then other shampoos offered by high street shops, it may appear slightly expensive to some but I believe that it is worth paying this price as it lasts a long time and your hair looks like you have just walked out of a hairdressing salon every time that you use it and a little does go along way so you won’t need to buy it too frequently. This is a product that I will continue buying no matter what. I’m not even tempted to try any others from the same brand, but for those of you who desire different attributes to a shampoo then those offered by the TIGI Bed Head Control Freak Shampoo that I used, then I suggest that you try looking at others in their range. I say this as judging by the performance of this shampoo (and form the basis of using other TIGI products) I am convinced that all products that they produce are of a high standard.
So, I am a 100% pleased consumer and normally I am critical of most things. I mean surely everything has to have a fault?! The only slight criticism I have is that because the shampoo is thick and sticky you may THINK that it is going to make your hair more greasy then other shampoos, but this is not the case, it does not make your hair more greasy or feel heavier. Your hair will be left feeling soft-it won’t feel heavy yet at the same time it won’t feel flyaway!!!
I more then recommend this for use by most people, although it probably is best suited to those who have coloured hair and wish to protect their colour, and/or by those whom wish to wear it straight, and/or by those who want to prevent frizz and finally and/or by those who want to use heated styling implement frequently-as this shampoo helps prevent split ends. However, if you don’t have any of these then you are probably better off buying a cheaper shampoo which will focus more on simply cleaning your hair i.e. if you are like my dad whose balding and whose hair is about a size 2, then buying this product may seem slightly pointless!!!
So go straight to your local hairdressers and buy it NOW or order online at:

Tigi are a well respected hair products company, who I’m sure many people have heard of, or experienced in their life. Personally I was a convert to their “Creative Genius” styling balm, and a firm ... ...me when I go.
TiGi were founded in 1971 to create products for Toni and Guy however, they now cater for all stylistic hairdressers, creating unique products to meet every need. Each product I’ve encountered smells good enough to eat, and certainly performs the task it is supposed to. The bottles and jars are designed to look fantastic on your dressing table. But enough about the other products, let’s review the shampoo.

Tigi hair products were first manufactured in the late 70's, working closely with Toni&Guy salons, the company was to provide a limited range of products available only in the Toni&Guy group. Advantages: Smells tropical, detangles hair Disadvantages: Impossible to wash out, hair feels built up with product
My hair was in ok condition, although instead of being naturally straight or naturally curly it was somewhere in between, and I wanted it to be shinier as well.
I had read good reviews about tigi, so I searched online to find some for the best price. I had ordered from strawberry.net before and had had no problems, and on the plus side there is no p+p, and you get a slight discount after your first order. The shampoo and conditioner are expensive, ... ...that buying the bigger bottles (750ml) which cost around £10-11 were most cost effective. Strawberry.net warns you that there may be a small customs charge but since i had not had one the first time I ordered I assumed Id be ok, and at the most it would be £3-4. Well I was wrong they send things from Asia (which I didnt realise), and the more the product weighs the bigger customs charge. So my charge was nearly £12. Anyway the point of this is that ...

...with my latest purchase – TIGI Bed Head ‘control freak’ shampoo.
TIGI is a great brand that makes all kind of expensive hair care and styling products. It is sold “only in professional salons”, and you’ll be lucky to find a bottle of anything under 6 or 7 quid. They do everything from shampoo and conditioner to sprays and oils and mousses and serums. Basically if you have a feature of your hair that you don’t like they will have a product to sort ... ...great job.

Availability
TIGI products (including the Bed Bead range) are only available in salons. You might like to ring around to compare prices but after scouring the internet I haven’t found anywhere selling it cheaper than what I paid. I know that it is definitely available in Tony and Guy salons. You can also find it on the internet (often with free delivery) if you are feeling lazy.

and so knew it would last a while. Its a pump which you just push down and the shampoo comes out. Its in a clear bottle and the shampoo inside is lime green (this seems to be an unsual colour for a shampoo but i thought it lokked very trendy)
As soon as you pump out the shampoo your hit by a very pleasent citrus and lime smell, which I loved as it smells very refeshing and clean which is exactly what you want when your washing your hair.
I found with this shampoo you only need a small amont as it foams up very niceley and as your doing so you notice the foam had a very creamy texture (maybe this is why it controls your hair?).
I applied this once to my hair and rinsed it out and followed with my usual confitioner.

INTRODUCTION
Having recently expanded my hairdressing salon, I have just taken on TIGI products such as Bedhead and catwalk hair products to sell and use in addition to the Matrix brand that I was already stocking.
As with anything new I introduce I like to try it out and test the products capabilities before selling them and recommending them to clients, because I would hate to sell any product that I have not tried and tested as these can be very expensive to buy and I would hate for the clients to be disappointed.
I have recently tried the TigiControlfreak conditioner form the bedhead range, as this is a product that advertises that I would help maintain my wild hair.
