Advantages gives hair a volume boost without being sticky or stiff

Disadvantages I don't like the smell

With this product I think it was probably the name more than anything that attracted me. I had been wanting to add a bit of volume to my hair, and when I saw the name 'Plumping Spray' I thought it sounded exactly what I needed - a way of plumping my hair up a bit to separate the layers and stop it looking so limp.

I have used TIGI products in the past with mixed results, so in all honesty wasn't sure what to expect and simply crossed my fingers and hoped for the best. This particular product is from the S Factor range which I hadn't tried before now, and I still haven't managed to find out what the S stands for - Salon, Style, Shine, Sexy?! Who knows, perhaps we're meant to just guess as it doesn't say on the bottle or on TIGI's website as far as I can see.

TIGI S-Factor Body Booster Plumping Spray
One thing that normally really stands out about TIGI products is that they tend to come in vibrant, funky packaging, but this along with the rest of the S factor range comes in a comparatively bland white bottle. Whilst I like the curvy shape of the bottle, on the whole I find it a little boring looking, and think a splash of colour wouldn't have gone amiss.

You can use this in either wet or dry hair and the idea is that it gives 'soft, moveable body' to the hair, whilst giving a lift at the roots. I normally apply this to dry hair, as the only occasion I sprayed it into wet hair, I found that it left my roots sticky and hard to style.

The spray is a pump bottle rather than an aerosol, so the mist is quite wet, for want of a better description, and I would prefer it came out in a finer mist, as it soaks the hair a little bit too much for my liking. Once this has been sprayed into the roots of the hair, I find it's best to leave it a moment or two, and then I use my fingers to push my roots up a little bit - plump them I suppose you could say. This is quite an easy process, and very simple to do. I'm quite interested in make-up and body products, but when it comes to my hair I'm really no expert, so if I can do this, then anyone can!

The results I get from this are actually quite impressive. It provides a nice lift to my roots and makes my hair look more volumous with a bit of body. There is a slightly sticky feeling to the roots of my hair, but this is not as bad as I've had with other products, and at least it doesn't make my hair go hard or crunchy! I don't find my hair is weighed down and it seems to brush out easily enough and doesn't leave any residue or white flakes.

One of the most noticeable things once I have the spray in my hair is the smell. Like a lot of TIGI products this has quite a strong scent, and this one is, to me, like watered down fruit juice. It reminds me of pineapple juice and I have to admit that I'm not a fan of the scent. It really hangs around in my hair and I can smell it throughout the day which drives me mad!

Prices vary depending on where you buy this. It is a salon product so mainly found in salons rather than shops, but like all TIGI products it is widely available online.
