This shop is not one for the very up to date with fashion. that tends to be me, i like to keep in with the seasons but i rarely shop here although you can find a bargain or two in here. i have two nearby me and always see this shop wherever i go in the uk i even saw it in america but it was tj maxx in america. tk maxx has just been built even nearer me so i have had a look through the rails.
All of the clothes inside are on rails, mens rails, womens rails then there are shoes and home things. the clothes are normally put in categories like usually it's a full skirt rail then the sizes go up in order, they then have t-shirt rails and so on. i sometimes find this way of presenting clothes a bit cheap and off putting
Many people I know say they find some nice clothes here but they hate having to search through the rails and it makes everything seem less exciting and expensive. The workers where red t-shirts and black trousers normally which matches too much with the background and again doesn't give the idea that this shop has class, I think they should change the uniform.
There is a huge variety of brands found in TK Maxx, some very well known other unknown. In my visits here I have come accross D&G, French Connection, Adidas, Morgan, Kookai, Ralph Lauren, DKNY, Guess etc all good brands but when you are buying here you know you are getting reduced goods and that they are from a past season. This is why it's sometimes best to buy unknown brands. Some newer clothes are better presented at the front.
The shoes are always in a mess all over the floor or when I find my size not much of a choice. The changing rooms are always good lots of rooms so that there is never a queue to wait in. The changing rooms are not too spacious but not too small and they are ok for a shop like this better than more expensive ones I have been in. I have got some good tops here and even if you don't like the fact it is a bit old you could always customise.
One thing I have noticed is that some older items have ridiculour prices. I once found a nice Guess top red but with a dirty mark on the side. I looked at the price thinking it would be reduced and then saw it was £17.99. I though the shop was meant to be for cheaper clothes not the same price you could buy a new one with no dirty marks on it? Somwtimes I feel the clothes haven't changed much.
My overall opinion of this shop is that it has some good bargains lurking on those rails but you have to dive in deep to find them before someone else takes it away from you. I don't think the appearance inside red and grey colours is up too much they should maybe think of a better way to brighten up the stores. Some are white inside but that doesn't make a difference. The staff are usually nice but some thing here are over priced.
The good thing in TK Maxx is that if you are not satisfied with your purchase you keep the receipt and take it back with the item you are returning within 30 days of buying and you get a refund which is really good because some stores wouldn't do that.
The bags and home ornaments can be quite nice too these are more expensive. There are lots of branches in the UK so go dig in and see what you can get.
