TX Maxx sell a wide variety of products at discounted prices. Lets start with the ladieswear...

In the store near me, there are about 5 long racks of jeans sorted out in sizes starting at around a UK size 6-8 and ending around size 18, although larger sizes are usually avaliable elsewhere in the store. So, say your looking for a size 10 pair of standard denim Diesel jeans with a 31" leg. Good luck. Yes, they may well be in there, but can you be bothered to search through hundereds of other pairs of jeans to find a pair you may or may not like? Didn't think so.I've seen all sorts os labels stocked in TK Maxx - jeans from labels such as:
  • Diesel
  • Miss Sixty
  • Seven for all Mankind
  • Earl Jeans
  • Raplh Lauren
  • Tommy Hilfiger

But before you get too excited, they are usually from about 10 years ago and way out of fashion. You do however sometimes find a 'current season' pair of jeans, or other article, avaliable for sale. Go for it if you do, because it isn't one of those "Oh I'll come back for it later". Even if it is still in the store, I doubt you'll ever find it again! The tops on sale in TK Maxx vary greatly from little vest tops to shirts, t-shirts and jumpers, cardigans and hoodies. They often have good bargains on tops, particularly sportswear - why pay more for something your only going to wear in the gym anyway? Again, the makes of the tops will vary greatly from week to week, but expect to see a lot of Elle, Miss Sixty, Betty Boop and similar type designers and occasionally a bit of Raplh Lauren.

Underwear sold at this store is usually quite good, they stock a good range of bra sizes, up to G which is quite unusual. They stock some more designer-y underwear, but you'll mainly find items you haven't heard about. but are nice all the same, and things like Mr Men themed underwear(!) and Gossard, occasionally a bit of Wonderbra or something similar. No, I've yet to See Agent Provocateur!

Menswear I find slightly easier to search through, maybe because theres usually less men out shopping therefore making it less crowded. The tops are mainly T shirts, and are not sorted in any way apart from in sizes (near enough, anyway) and go from S up to XXXL. Now the blokes T shirts they sell can be brilliant, particularly the plain tees, or the plain but with a little logo in the corner. I've seen Calvin Kleins, Hugo Boss', Diesels, YSL's, Raplh Laurens & Tommy Hilfigers all being sold for about a tenner to £15. Bargain! Sometimes you'll be really lucky and pick one up for even less!

The mens jeans I find looking through them for my fella even more stressful that searching through the womens jeans for myself. It will take ageees to sift through the jeans that are likely to stay there a further ten years before finding a suitable pair. But when you do, it's worth it!

TX Maxx also sell childrenswear. This is usually set out a little easier, and the aisles in this department are slightly wider making it easier to access. The childrenswear includes all the little labels you can expecvt to see, at very good prices. They also cater for babies - I found a gorgeous Raplh Lauren bib in there a little while ago for about £2! Definetly worth a look at the childrenswear.

Shoes... avaliable for men and women. You'll usually find that there are gorgeous shoes avaliable with price tags of around £150+ that they are selling for something like £30. But they'll be in size 2. Or 12. (Well not quite, but you know what I mean). They often have a good range of shoes avaliable, sandals, boots, flip flops, heels and flats by good designers at very affordable prices. Mens shoes include work shoes/loafers, trainers and flip flops and again are all at reasonable prices - around £20 for a pair of good trainers, usually.

Now, this store actually sells more things than what I've already talked about, and I haven't even gone into the blokes work shirts (YSL, CK, Hugo Boss, around £30), hats (take your pick, abut £5 nike/adidas etc) or socks and mens underwear (Pringke, CK, Hugo...from £5)...

Luggage is one of the other things TK sells. I found a gorgeous Raplh Lauren metallic silver suitcase for sale one, for £40 with an RRP of about triple that, maybe more. Of course I snapped it up, but I havent found another suitcase in there like it since, I've been looking for a larger one. You often do get good bargains, but the ones in there at the moment they are asking £100 or so for, for some amazing designer lugggae that no-ones ever heard of.

Now, they also sell kitchen wear, toys, little things like mirrors, little pots, crockery, and small bits of furniture. Now I've never really been in other departments properly but I've heard these items are priced quite reasonably. I must admit though there's never been anything I've seen there thats caught my eye and dragged me in!

The sales they do are often brilliant, with jeans being sold at sometimes £1!! I picked up three pairs of Wrangler jeans for a quid each, what a bargain! Definetly worth browsing through the sales when their on.

Now you've read through that, what do you think? In my opinion, TK Maxx is brilliant for finding a good bargain, a pair of designer jeans or a little designer top for a good price. But if your in a hurry, dont even consider it. Happy shopping!

Love Bex
