I’m a HUGE fan of tx maxx, that is the first thing I’ll say!
BUT I am absolutely amazed by the mentality of people when they’re in this shop, which really baffles me. Reading some of the reviews on here did make their behaviour just slightly more understandable…
Every time I walk into this shop, I go straight to the rails to rummage through. It’s hard to expect what you might see at this particular visit, but then that’s the fun of it. While all the other high street shops sell the same old seasonal stuff at any given time, tx maxx has a very large range of suppliers (some foreign), which is a Godsend if you hate current formulaic high street tat, i.e. smock tops.
I’d say I’m a fussy, stingey shopper and guided by quality, as I don’t have a massive income I can’t cough up constantly for over priced clothing which falls to pieces after the second wash. This is where tx maxx comes in. Last time I visited, I picked up three VERY top designer sweaters made of wool and cashmere, for £20 each. I won’t say any more which particular shop I went to or the designer etc. because I don’t want to risk losing out on a bargain like this in future!
I’ll bring up the first point again though. What is it with people with no imagination when they are in this shop? Every time I am carefully going through the rails, out of the corner of my eye I can always spot someone (usually slightly chavvy, dim looking, over sunburnt and always with ill fitting jeans) walking around like a lost lamb. And then that’s it - they charge right up to you like a raging bull, push you out the way, pick up what you just looked at, sneer, get bored and then bugger off again. Why?? It always happens. A stinking old daisy did it to me last time.
It seems pretty apparent to me now – most people out ‘shopping’, don’t actually seem to think that part of the fun is using your brain and imagination, trying to get the best look and quality for your money and imaginatively piecing outfits together.
Instead, they want phillip green and his conglomerate to do the thinking for you, sticking piles of sickly coloured cheap crap on forward facing rails. The price of them thinking for you? £45 extra. Kate moss can wish!
Tx maxx and primark (love this shop too for simple basics at cheap prices) are the only shops I tend to go to these days. Top designer clothing with hundreds off the original price is something you can’t argue with, and if you argue with this then you are both extremely unintelligent and plain lazy.
Enough said!
