I had to write a review about the BEST shop in the world... well probably.
There are not many shops that you can go to and get almost anything you need at any time of year.
This is my one stop indulgence. Whether you are a complete shopaholic or just a cautious buyer this is the place for you.
TKMAXX These stores are usually very large and can be found in most major cities. Most are located in Retail parks but some can be found in shopping centres. The tend to all be much the same although not necessarily carrying the same stock. So if you see an item in one store and hope to get it in another chances are .. you wont.
The Logo is the destinctive Red Name. Stores are basic although well lit they are usually large with high ceilings and limited shopping fitting and comforts. No carpeting or chairs to sit on. Some have WC's. The fitting rooms are basic but functional, cubicles maybe slightly on the small side and the lighting is not always flattering. But the lack of these little luxuries probably helps to keep the prices down. The staff are friendly enough and wear a uniform, not very flattering or trendy more like they work in a wharehouse. Red Polo shirt or white t-shirt and black trousers.
The clothes are arranged into similar items, so all the t-shirts are together, all the dresses, trousers, jeans etc... they are then all sorted into sizes. Unlike other stores that have maybe 10 pairs of the same jeans on the same rack, TKMaxx is different every pair will be different. Different colour, style and price. But the important word there is Different.. you can guarantee that someone will not be wearing the same item as you.
I think this layout for shoppers can be either you like it or you hate it... a bit like marmite.
I would say you really do need to set some time just to have a good look round and see what they have to offer. Spend time just flicking through all the rails you will definately find something. It is possible to find some lovely designer pieces and also designer inspired items. Especially the shoe section and the handbag section.
I would definately recommend that you try you item on, the sizing for most of the items can be a bit vague so take a handful into the changing room. You are allowed max of 6 items.
Returns Items can be returned with in 14days as long as you have your receipt which is bright red... easy to keep track of. They allow a refund or exchange. But you must have the receipt, if not then you get a credit note which is put onto gift card.
They don't provide free bags, but you can take your own or buy a one. I usually carry a bag in my bag. They supply trolleys and baskets, I would opt for a trolley as you can put you handbag in it and then it frees up both hands for raking through everything.
Definately worth a visit and taking time to look round. It is a totally different kind of shopping than say bhs or marks and spencers.
