I have read a few reviews on TRESemmè products. I promised myself a bottle when I was feeling flush. Then I started working for Asda and after scanning umpteen bottles through my check out I thought 'There must be something in it' .... I played crafty and looked at the condition of the hair of some of the customers.... I wasn't put off by this except for one lady. Her hair looked ok but was very lifeless. I saw the same customer the following week not at my till but at the one next to me, the transformation was great, her hair was full bodied and shining. Then I realised after a few weeks there were a few people buying different TRESemmè products. Ok I was convinced, I'd give it a go.

¤The Product:

After work on Thursday last week I went over to the hair section and purchased a large (900 ml) bottle. Much larger than you'd usually see. I thought I'd start off with the basic Vitamin E Moisture rich shampoo. It cost £3.97. Expensive yes but when you consider the size of the bottle its going to last you.
From what I understand the shampoo comes in a black bottle and the conditioner white. Not too complicated. The bottle is 19cm tall (not including lid) and has a circumference of 27cm. So you can imagine you would get a lot of useage out of that sized bottle.

On the front is white writing with the TRESemmè logo followed by the words 'used by professionals'. It goes on to describe the product as' Vitamin E Moisture Rich Shampoo for Dry or damaged hair.
On the back there is a chart with the available shampoo's in the range, Moisture rich,Colour revitalising,Healthy volume and Deep cleansing. It also has the claims of strengthening your hair and preventing further damage.Also that it will 'Restore moisture and Resiliency',

¤Smell / Consistency:

When I smelled the shampoo for the first time I can't say it smelt to much different to any other shampoo I'd ever tried a floral clean fresh smell... not unpleasant. The feel of the shampoo was unusual. It felt greasy again not unpleasant but unusual.

¤First wash:

I rinsed my hair well with hot water as usual for my first TRESemmè experience. It spread well and I found it easy to rub into my hair. I'm assuming the greasy texture helped in this. it did lather well but not excessively. I rinsed and repeated. My hair did feel clean and rinsed out well but left a very different feeling to my hair. It felt quite more textured than usual, hard to describe but I felt like I had more hair. Although it was easy to run my fingers through. A bonus as my hair is very thin.

¤The Revelation!

I thought I would truly put this 'new' shampoo to the test. I decided given the texture and that it was feeling nice as it was to not bother with any conditioner (given that the purse wouldn't run to both that week!) I thought as a true test to TRESemmè and to be fair to them I would dry my hair freshly shampooed. A VERY rare occurence for me. I usually can't contemplate doing this as my hair is like a thatched roof after shampooing. I styled and dried my hair in the usual manner (blasting it to bits with my battered braun!

) The results were very pleasing. My hair was sleek but full. Clean and shiny. Split ends seemed tamed. It felt great and with no build up.

¤Conclusion:

It would appear this shampoo does much more than it implies. With using just the Moisture shampoo, I had a shampoo that cleansed, clarified, voumised and moisturised my hair all for the price of one. I am very impressed with this shampoo and look forward to trying out the other's in the range, but as I seem to have it all in one bottle I'm in no rush to go out and buy the others. Its a lovely shampoo and yes it is different to others but well worth the money. I have been converted.

** Note: A few people have commented that TRESemme had left their hair lank and greasy.... I meant to put this in my review earlier..... I had one day where I washed my hair in the morning and by the time I'd finished work at 5 my hair looked like a greasy chip! But I knew I hadn't rinsed it thouroughly enough that morning as I was in a blazing hurry...Whilst rinsing I was thinking about the thousand and one other jobs I should have been doing. So I must stress RINSE WELL more so than you would do with other products. Since that day I haven't had any problems with this shampoo. S xxxx
