Advantages: Generally good service, helpful! Disadvantages: High charges!
Lloyds TSB
I have been with Lloyds TSB literally all my life, they've always seemed to be a good bank to me, they won't lend me money as it is as I've never had credit and have been a student and never had a full time job, which is good, a lot of banks don't care and will give money out to anyone regardless of whether they can pay it back or not, but I've never had this with Lloyds, the only thing with them is the charges they put on your account for an unplanned overdraft, but these unplanned overdrafts I take with Lloyds really are a godsend when my wages are short by 50 pound one month and my phone bill needs paying so I don?t mind a £25 charge for a £100 unplanned overdraft, it s when you go overdrawn by 4p that the charge is annoying!!!
Other than this, Lloyds have been a very good bank for me, yes they try to sell me ...

When I took out my policies it was with General Portfolio, however they then changed name to GAN and then were taken over or sold to Windsor Life.

Advantages: very easy access Disadvantages: not cheap
The lloyds / TSB telephone share shop is very easy to join and even easier to access. Once registered your are able to trade via phone immediately , all transactions are qualified within 48 hrs with a transaction confirmation and settlement of transaction is usually approx 5-10 days. All transactions are via a pre-nominated bank account and when contacting a password is required and then a personal question to confirm you are the correct user. The staff are very helpfull with an understanding of the small investors needs. The only critism is the charges , each transaction is £25 which when dealing in low investments can make a considerable difference. ...
