I have owned a TVR Cerbera Speed 6 now for 5 weeks. Before i had it, it had a top end rebuild by TVR who are now giving a 2 year warranty, excellent! However, the car has had problems with it's electrics for which it had to go back - 2 weeks. I picked itup the friday before last, wow super, smooth, quick, great handling, sounds great and absolutely brilliant to drive. Again however, the following week on Friday the clutch ceased working. The garage ... ...i am told by a TVR specialist that it should be ok now, I am just fed up waiting for it. The car should get 5 stars, pounds for performance wise. I am just sad that another bank holiday has passed with the car in for repairs.
Update -
I have now owned this car for over a year, have driven it daily since getting it back and have covered around 22000 miles in this year. I have had to have some electrical connectors cleaned, water ... more

I picked itup the friday before last, wow super, smooth, quick, great handling, sounds great and absolutely brilliant to drive. Again however, the following week on Friday the clutch ceased working. The garage that I had the car from have been brilliant, i couldn't ask for more. but this car did have a new clutch before i picked it up. i have driven the car carefully and have not abused the clutch so this was a surprise. when the car works - all is forgiven, it is absolutely brilliant and not too bad on fuel - another surprise. I have probably been unlucky with what has gone wrong with the car, it has not done many miles since 1999 this is probably the problem. This car should be superb, i am told by a TVR specialist that it should be ok now, I am just fed up waiting for it. The car should get 5 stars, pounds for performance wise. Update - I have now owned this car for over a year, have driven it daily since getting it back and have covered around 22000 miles in this year. I have had to have some electrical connectors cleaned, water ingress seems to be a problem with some TVR electrics, the connectors have since been waterproofed and a Lambda probe has been changed. I have driven this car on Donnington Park and only a single seat race car was faster, It was brilliant! I have taken several friends for a run in the car and all except 1 have used very bad language under full acceleration up to the national speed limit. I cannot explain to people how good this car was on the track, although there are several videos by others on the web to help. I have now had Gaz Gold Suspension fitted this = amazing grip and handling, the handling is now predictable in the wet and shall we say was exciting in the snow last winter, trying to use 350 hp as carefully as possible. The car has been reguarly serviced by an independant and this is a must for this engine. The oil is checked daily at the correct temperature also vital as the engine is dry sumped, running low on oil will kill a speed 6 engine very quickly. The best I have done on fuel so far was recently on a return trip from Scotland, I got 400 miles on 60 litres of fuel, this was at a more or less constant 70mph, a companion was amazed at this given the performance of the car. To sum up: if buying a Cerbera (Any Engine) get it checked by a TVR expert first. Have it reguarly serviced. Check the oil daily. Enjoy!
