Green Switches and Purple Wizards

Advantages: Learn how Policemen spend every hour of every day in every county of England, Even Norfolk
Disadvantages: Pobl y Cwm

...503 In the Sky code language code, BBC1 becomes BBC 101, BBC2 becomes BBC 102, ITV 1 becomes ITV 103. Which is all straight forward but on this basis, you would expect BBC News on channel 180 according to my own hitherto correct television logic, but it's not. It's all the way over on 503. Basically, I had to ignore everything I'd learnt about new fangled television in the past few years, AND everything I ever knew about TV in the first place, because ...
...HDTV' I joined Sky through pestering my wife and then ringing them up, and after a bit of a wait and some moaning, we were signed up on a £26 per month deal for TV, Phone line and that baffling Wireless Broadband connection thing; I daren't wonder who empowers that, but I had to pay £60 for the setup charges. The £26 surreptitiously increased to £28 when we added 2 of the optional channel packs so that I had more channels to flick through during ...

Where did the name Virgin go so wrong

Advantages: None
Disadvantages: No working TV and £75 out of pocket

Yesterday I arranged to have Virgin media TV XL and a V+ box. They charged me £75 to have the box set up. The service lasted less than 1 hour then the box kept re booting. I then found that I couldn't use my sound system or DVD as they had left the wires out. After phoning a rip off 0845 phone numbers I was told " It's due to a computer problem at our end" I checked on line and no such problem was reported. 6 hours later after calling customer services ...
...Sky and book with them. Virgin media is the worst company I have ever dealt with steer clear ! PS the £75 set up fee doesn't inc the HDMI lead so what are they setting up ? I don't know and they couldn't say. VIRGIN MEDIA = lies, poor customer service / some at a foreign call center? ...

I personally think that Freeview is great, you recieve a wide range of channels including ITV1, ITV2, ITV3, BBC1, BBC2, Channel 4, More 4, E4, TMF, MTV, Sky News, CBBC, CBeebies and lots more. Is it worth paying for no adverts?

Advantages: My thoughts on the TV licence
Disadvantages: It is a hot topic for debate currently

...bit of money from the BBC also) now put their adverts on at the same time, which means that flicking through channels is now out of the question. There is no doubt in my mind that the BBC has got it wrong on some levels, but they also do so much that is good. One strong example of this was the Director General of BBC being interviewed on BBC news and given an absolute ear bashing about Jonathan Ross et al. If that had been a commerical news channel ...
...make. I know that the BBC are working hard to cut costs and are serious about streamlining their work... their offices in New York for example have been closed as modern technology allows for more work to be done in London. They have a lot to prove if they are to justify their existence, but is an existence that I for one am happy to pay for. ...
