glass shelves can fall off tv stands Advantages: looks good Disadvantages: the shelves can drop off When choosing your next television, you are best spending some time looking at the stand that it will be placed. John Lewis JLPA02 - With any indoor aerial reception is an issue. Advantages: Small, easy to move around the room. Disadvantages: High price for low build quality. ...trepidation that I went to John Lewis and was once again bombarded with a selection of indoor aerials, all promising to give me the strongest, cleanest digital TV signal I’d ever seen. I made my choice – the JLPA02 - which was about £25 at the time. Taking it home and plugging everything in, the TV went on. A quick scan with the freeview receiver gave me all of the digital channels except those on the BBC 1 & E4 multiplex, a definite improvement. ... ...and changed the position of the aerial to see where I generally received the best signal. Having settled on a position, I rescanned the freeview box and had the missing channels, with signal at around 50%. This, however, was soon to change. When I woke up the following morning, digital reception was nowhere to be seen. I am in complete control Advantages: Tough, Easy to use, Not overly Priced (if you ever need a new one) Disadvantages: Mine has tooth marks on As Sky Plus has began to be a key part of my life I'm now starting to adore the control just as much as the overall service. Coming in a primarily gray colour with a black back and trim (including most of the buttons), the device is well laid out and simple to navigate. At the top are the On/Off button, the Sky Button and the TV button (allowing you to control the TV with the remote instead of needing both a TV remote and a Sky remote lying about ... ...it is on the old Sky remotes allowing you to scroll between programs and channels with ease of just using your thumb to see whats on now and whats on next. The simplicity of sticking a reminder on the programs later the same day is done by pressing select as is changing channel via the scroll menu's an incredibly simple way of navigating a vast number of channels swiftly. One For All Advantages: one for all, combing different remotes Disadvantages: doesn't always transfer everything you want ...This is what makes the One For All unique as it really is for absolutely everything. The set up is again not anywhere near as hard as what you would think. All you need is the remote itself and then easily work through the manual to set up each of your devices. This literally took me a couple of minutes for each device and even if you make a mistake there is no need to panic it can all be very straightforwardly be corrected. Another appealing factor ... ...switches if desired! Yes the One For All remote can be used to switch your lights on or off or even dim them! Although this is an interesting factor, you have to buy a separate piece of equipment to do this, which in my opinion is very off putting considering you've already paid £20 for a remote in the first place. To be honest....it could be better!! Advantages: Easy to set up, lots of features, Great idea for a remote Disadvantages: Poor userface, bad software, not user friendly ...I know logitech have now bought out the 1100 which i know has a faster response time so will sort out the problem getting around the menu. However, it is the same layout and user interface as the 1000 so i wont be buying one of those either, especially at this price. The cheapest i can find the Remote is on Amazon. This is cheaper than what i paid but then i have had it a while now. This is my second one of these as my first one just stopped working. ...
