Ba-Ba Boom
Advantages: Comfortable to wear. Good sound quality. An excellent set of budget infra red headphones. Disadvantages: Not a lot!
...poor?) and a new 4Gb Philips MP3 player for my wife. Anyways, back to my new headphones. What I was after was a set of headphones that had large, well padded earpieces, were remote so that I didn't have wires dangling out of them, which gave good, undistorted stereo sound, and which weren't going to put too big a dent in my Paypal balance. The Philips SHC2000 scores on all counts. The pack consists of an infra red control unit that you connect to ... ...set of large, comfortable headphones, a couple of rechargeable batteries for the headset, and a wire to plug the unit into the headphone socket of the TV. They were very similar to my old headphones, so I had absolutely no problem setting them up, and in a couple of minutes was up and running. The headphones themselves are extremely comfortable. Rather than fixed position earpieces (like my old headphones had) the earpieces are mounted on plastic ...

Philips Wireless TV Link SLV3220
Advantages: Well made, easy to set up, looks good. Disadvantages: Signal not brilliant
I have had this since December 2007. The set-up is nice and easy, sender box has 2 inputs, 1 a scart lead, the other an RGB lead with a scart adapter.
The first thing I noticed was that Wireless LAN causes really bad inference, so I have to turn that off when using it. Once that is turned off the quality is reasonable, but I sometimes still get inference from other wireless networks.
I noticed on the box it says that Sky remotes will not work with ... ...box and the remote works perfectly fine, no delay at all.
I currently have the sender downstairs in the living room and the receiver upstairs in my room, so there's about 10-15 meters between them at most, with a ceiling and a wall between them. But I'd say that this is about the maxumim range as I've had to position them carefully to stop inference.
Overall it does what it's supposed to, but just a few issues with signal quality. ...

Bargin
Advantages: 6metre cord, volume control, cheap Disadvantages: haven't found any yet
I had intended on buying a set of wireless headphones as I thought they would be better, untill I saw these, with a 6m lead it was long enough for what I needed. And they were a third of the price of wirless headphones. I use these for listening to music at night so I don't disturb the family and also when I'm playing my electric guitar (although there is some hissing with it when I'm doing this but this may be becuase I'm to close to the amp)
With ... ...my room and still listen to my music but the thing I enjoy doing most now is lying in bed watching a dvd and not disturbing the rest of the house late at night. You are able to extend the headband(is that what its called?) to fit you head, although mine fit without extending it and I'm an average 19year old male, also a few inches down from the headphones is a volume control which is I find useful. I think they block out surrounding noise reasonably ...

John Lewis JLPA02 - With any indoor aerial reception is an issue.
Advantages: Small, easy to move around the room. Disadvantages: High price for low build quality.
...trepidation that I went to John Lewis and was once again bombarded with a selection of indoor aerials, all promising to give me the strongest, cleanest digital TV signal I’d ever seen. I made my choice – the JLPA02 - which was about £25 at the time. Taking it home and plugging everything in, the TV went on. A quick scan with the freeview receiver gave me all of the digital channels except those on the BBC 1 & E4 multiplex, a definite improvement. ... ...and changed the position of the aerial to see where I generally received the best signal. Having settled on a position, I rescanned the freeview box and had the missing channels, with signal at around 50%. This, however, was soon to change. When I woke up the following morning, digital reception was nowhere to be seen. Thinking that the aerial must have moved, I repositioned what I had previously considered the pinnacle of all indoor aerials, and ...

I am in complete control
Advantages: Tough, Easy to use, Not overly Priced (if you ever need a new one) Disadvantages: Mine has tooth marks on
As Sky Plus has began to be a key part of my life I'm now starting to adore the control just as much as the overall service. Coming in a primarily gray colour with a black back and trim (including most of the buttons), the device is well laid out and simple to navigate. At the top are the On/Off button, the Sky Button and the TV button (allowing you to control the TV with the remote instead of needing both a TV remote and a Sky remote lying about ... ...it is on the old Sky remotes allowing you to scroll between programs and channels with ease of just using your thumb to see whats on now and whats on next. The simplicity of sticking a reminder on the programs later the same day is done by pressing select as is changing channel via the scroll menu's an incredibly simple way of navigating a vast number of channels swiftly. The volume control is on the left and the channel change (up and down) is on ...
