TXU Energy (formerly Eastern Energy)

Advantages: Tesco Clubcard points
Disadvantages: Not alot really; expensive rates, confusing system, long telephone delays, etc

...I have been through with TXU for the past eight months! Let me explain, sorry guys its gonna be a long one! All the time I have lived in East Anglia I have always been with TXU Energy (formerly Eastern Energy, prior to that Eastern Electricity). They may not offer the cheapest prices since the market has been opened up to all, but unusually for me I have stayed with them, as it’s been easier and plus I get a Tesco Clubcard point for every pound ...
...it back again and then TXU got it back (my utilities bill was like a yo-yo for several months which just added to both theirs and my confusion!). For about 2 months every time I phoned TXU they told me that they couldn’t find my account and continually sent me a new customer pack to sign up despite the fact that I phoned Npass who have a list of who your supplier is supposed to be and they confirmed it was in fact TXU, even though TXU totally ... Disadvantages: phone system, not wnough information

Eastern Energy seem to run an efficient utilities company that is not too expensive and provides good services to the Eastern area. However the wait on the telephones, not having enough options to cover what you need and getting through to companies that deal with network maintenance but can't help me with my bill is infuriating. The telephone system needs to be a lot cleare and people need more information about who to contact when having difficulties ...
...Energy would find it a lot easier if people were senmt out more useful information about what the supplier does, when a private electrician is needed and who to phone for billing information. At the moment it is taking too long and is too much effort to report problems or make general enquiries because you get passed from pillar to post ... Read review

I happen to use Eastern energy for both ny gas and electricity but how good are they? We cannot measure gas and electricity in terms of supply aunless we are one of the really unlucky ones so most of us distinguish between what is good and what is bad by the cost. ...better. According to canvassers who call at my door they are employed by even better companies although, like you I know they are probably self employed working on commision only. In fact if I believed everybody I would be changing my supplier on a weekly basis. Oh for the days when we all paid British Gas.
