On entering the Cardiff branch of TK Maxx there is a sign which states "Once you've discovered our prices on famous brands, there's no turning back."

Well, this is true to a certain extent, as long as you have the patience to sift through rail upon rail of clothes to find that little gem of a bargain you are hunting for. This is because the layout is by size, not by brand, colour or any other category which might make more sense.

But the bargains are there if you are prepared to search. Most clothes are last season's designs, something which doesn't really bother me, especially when it means that they tend to be about 1/2 the RRP. I bought a pair of Rusty shorts for £12.99 (RRP £35.00). Other brands on offer include Billabong, Quiksilver, Nike, Adidas, DKNY, CK, Kangol, Speedo and Firetrap.

The selection is huge. Yes, there is plenty of rubbish, but if you have 1/2 hour to spare you'll almost certainly find something.

TK Maxx's catchphrase is "The smarter way to shop" and I think this is true; before you go and spend a fortune on brand names at the full RRP, check out TK Maxx and see if you can't save some cash.
