Advantages: no batteries required - makes skype more friendly - low price Disadvantages: wire too short
This Tesco Internet Phone is a USB-wired little phone which was created to be used with Tesco internet phone service. I couldn't care less of that service but I was very interested in buying a a cheap PC phone to use on skype and I read this would work ok. The price was an absolute deal... 1p! You don't belive me? I didn't believe my eyes either but that was the price tag on it. They were practically giving them away, why not try it then? I bought two or three (I can't remember exactly), just in case one broke or for a particularly cheap gift. Total price 3p.
How does it work then? Well it's literally a plug-and-play device. You don't need to install anything if you only want to use it for skype. It is automatically recognized by Windows XP or Vista as a usb microphone and set of speakers (it will show up as USB AUDIO DEVICE). Once it ...
Advantages: Great form of comminication Disadvantages: None
VOIP VOICE CYBERPHONE-W
I have just replaced my internet phone for this Voip Voice Cyberphone-W.
I am a keen user of Skype as I do a lot of phoning abroad and I am always looking for cheaper ways of communicating.
It is a very slim phone which plug into the computer by using the USB PORT at the side of ones computer. The handset is in a fetching colour blue/turquoise and silver which looks rather smart.
The keypad is easy to use and the actual buttons are very solid and are a nice size not too small.
It is light in weight and the handset is easy to hold compared to the one I had before which was a little more bulky and harder to hold. So it is easy to carry with you.
This phone is ideal for using the Skype facility and all one needs to do is to down load the Skype from the CD which is provided when you purchase the phone ...
Advantages: Easy to use, 'free' calls Disadvantages: Calls to phone aren't free
the same deal - a real time, chat-style conversation. I'm not sure what the limit is in terms of number of participants, but the most I've been in a conversation with at one time is about eight people. I've included a screenshot of the IM window in the pictures.
-Calls: This is the main attraction of skype for me, the ability to have computer to computer calls, for free. All you need is a microphone and speakers/headphones. Don't be fooled into thinking you need a 'skypephone' or whatever gadget is around now - you don't, a simple microphone will suffice.
As I mentioned above, you can have one-to-one calls or a maximum of five people (these are called conference calls), and you can call anyone who has a skype account and is online. There's no time limit to the calls, they can go on for hours if you like.
I've found that the quality ...
