About 6 months ago I finally decided to go stuff it with pay as you go and switch to a contract as I was firing about 30 quid’s worth of vouchers into my mobile a month. This deal seemed great 50 free text messages, and 750 minutes free calls to UK landlines and T-mobile phones a month, plus a free phone for £13-99 per month over a 12 month contract.

Well for starters I cannot get reception in any pub in Fallowfield, Rusholme is ok and the centre of Manchester is ok. This has resulted in a few bollockings from the girlfriend as I quite often pop off for a pint in Fallowfield on the way home from work, which leads to the inevitable distractions of another one for the road. Not that if she could reach me it would make any difference to the amount of beer I would drink, but I would be able to invite her out for a beer. So Mr T mobile not only is your lousy reception affecting my sex life but it is also having a detrimental effect on the profitability of bars in Fallowfield.................
I got 50 free text messages a month may sound a lot but this works out at 1.6129032258064516129032258064516 to 1.7857142857142857142857142857143 text messages per day depending upon the month. This is pretty poor and for folks like me who cannot live with out text messaging a real bind. However text messages do cost 5p go. However this has significantly changed my mobile phone usage and reduced the number of text messages I send, which is a bad thing for a sex god like myself. Note that 50 free text messages are not normal for this price plan.

After being in this contract for 6 months I have come to the conclusion that this price plan is not for me, however it may be right for you. Here lies the problem with mobile phone companies, there are far too many price plans on the market and as a result I seriously doubt that many people get one that suits them. For that reason and the shockingly bad network reception I will not be renewing my contract in another 6 months and will probably revert to pay as you go on another network, unless t-mobile offers me something really sexy............
Advantages: loads of minutes Disadvantages: only Tmobile network
BACKGROUND
********************
I have had this contract for 2 years, but changed recently (i'll come to that).
I am French, and live in London. I was using this contract because of the high number of minutes and also the price. I used it mainly to call mummy and daddy (with an international phone card), to tell them about my adventures...
WHAT IS IT?
****************
A mobile phone contract. It includes:
- 750 minutes (about 12.5 hours) off ... ...free answer phone
- 50 free texts a month (you can get special deals with 100 txts)
- a free phone
- itemised billing: +£1 per month (you have no choice, you have to get it) detailed bill with all the numbers you called or txted.
HOW MUCH, BECAUSE YOU SAID BARGAIN EARLIER...
**********************************************************
£13.99 a month + the forced itemised billing. You get some phones for free, otherwise you have to pay a bit more ...

Advantages: Free talk time in the evenings for 12 hours Disadvantages: cant change your deal until the end of the contract
I ordered my phone off of the internet on the TMobile website (http://www.tmobile.co.uk) as they had a special offer on my phone, the Nokia 3100 and this particular price plan for just £13.99 per month as well as 100 free text messages (normally 50 free text messags per month). I recieved my phone the very next day and it was very easy to assemble- unlike my other Tmobile pay as you go phone- I didn't get any free credit when I registered and so ... ...to make a call. which I must admit did put me out slightly.
How have I found it so far?
Quite good. I was inspired to go to a mix it kind of network as it should enable you to cut down on your spending. I was inspired by a bank statement which told me i had spent £270 on just topping up my phone and my boyfriend said that this would be a cheaper options. So I joined up. Apart from the £13.99 per month you can also top up your phone- which ever ...

Advantages: Good if you only use it off peak. Disadvantages: CALLING CUSTOMER SERVICE IS A RIP-OFF.
T-Mobile charge calls to their customer service number at 50p per minute. Fair enough you might think - I won't have to call very often. The problem is, when you do, T-Mobile "conveniently" have a busy period so you're actually paying a small fortune for them to keep you waiting.
I lost my mobile phone last week so I was forced to call this bloodsucking operation to report it lost and get it blocked. Over three calls, I was on the phone for a total ... ...T-Mobile for about 3 minutes max. The call charges? Total - £9.05.
So if you don't mind T-Mobile ripping you off by keeping you waiting for ages on the phone then hey - knock yourself out - go for it. If like me you object to this seedy, underhand practice then look elsewhere.
I have 2 contracts with these shysters. One finishes in June so I won't be renewing it. The other has unfortunately just started so I'll be using it for my free call time ...

Advantages: You're sure about when you can make your free calls Disadvantages: Free text messages are too little at 50 per month
At 750mins per month in the evnings, I find this offer worth it considering, on the average, it covers how much talk I need per month, especially off-peak. For the average worker, and even students, you're not really relaxed enough or keen to make so many calls during the day anyway. Coming with so many top-of-the-range mobile handsets, like the Motorola V3, Nokia 6101, I think the packaging of this offer is worth the trial. The strategy seems to ... ...be loyal to the same operator as you. Can't deny the fact that I hesitate to call customer service though at the 50p per min rate. I think its ridiculous. It should be a lower once-off fee so we don't have to wait out T-mobile's customer service "busy periods". Haven't had much reception problems either since I got mine. I'd say a little adjustment to their service/rate and it just might be the network that works. ...
