BACKGROUND ******************** I have had this contract for 2 years, but changed recently (i'll come to that). I am French, and live in London. I was using this contract because of the high number of minutes and also the price. I used it mainly to call mummy and daddy (with an international phone card), to tell them about my adventures...
WHAT IS IT? **************** A mobile phone contract. It includes: - 750 minutes (about 12.5 hours) off peak (6pm - 7am, and the whole week end) - free answer phone - 50 free texts a month (you can get special deals with 100 txts) - a free phone - itemised billing: +£1 per month (you have no choice, you have to get it) detailed bill with all the numbers you called or txted.
HOW MUCH, BECAUSE YOU SAID BARGAIN EARLIER... ********************************************************** £13.99 a month + the forced itemised billing. You get some phones for free, otherwise you have to pay a bit more per month for some other handsets. At the moment (25/08/04, 13:29), you can get the: - Motorola: V300, C650, - LG: C1200, 7050, - Nokia: 3510i, 3100, 6100, 5100, 6310i - Sony ericsson T630 - Samsung X600, - Siemens MC60, MT50 for free. Please note that it is better to buy it on the net as you will get free gifts like accessories for your phone, free 3 months insurance etc etc etc. Usually you get it the following day too.
NETWORK COMMENTS? ****************************** No not at all. They are good, and you get good coverage almost everywhere...
WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE STUFF? ************************************************** Well, it is a cheap option. If you have no friends. Now that I am a star and that everyone wants to know me, my phone bills increased dramatically... Because let's face it, most of your friends don't have a T-mobile. Which means you have to pay for each call on another network. I'll try to find a price list for the calls... wait... here you are: ( price per minute) - Daytime (7am - 6pm Mon-Fri): 40p for local and T-mobiles, 50p for other networks - Evenings (6pm - 7am) and weekends: 5p for local and T-mobiles, 30p for other networks - Customer Service calls (per min): Free - Picture messaging (UK) (per msg): 35p - Text messaging (UK) (per msg): 10p - Voicemail (UK): Free - WAP access via GPRS (per KB): 0.75p
That is the official price list.
I don't mind the offpeak times, because I am working during the day, so it is a good deal for me. Furthermore, when you buy international phone cards, you can call a local phone number (because you are charged for 0800 numbers on mobiles...), and you can call your family @ about 1p per minute (in France, New Zealand and Germany at least). And with 8 hours of credit, you have plenty of time to talk to their dog too... However, if you are calling mostly on other networks, it can get pricy. I had some bills reaching £35 - 50 at some points... But on average, I pay £25. That's why I decided to change to the contract everyone offpeak 500: 500 minutes offpeak all networks... for £20.
CUSTOMER SERVICES ***************************** I called them several times for small things. No big issue. It was about advice, info... Anyway, you get an answering machine, and select the options by pressing 1, 2... I find it sometimes not very clear and if you just want to talk to someone, you need to go through all the options etc etc etc. But once you get to the people, they are usually very friendly and definately helpful.
CONCLUSION ****************** Well, the offpeak thing is a good option (at least for me). If you want to call local numbers or T mobiles, then it is appropriate for you. But if you plan on calling other networks, I would go for the everyone offpeak 500. You have a bit less minutes, but it is still 8 hours allowance...
Thanks for reading...

My two sons and my husband have this tariff, my daughter (that just got married) has an anytime cross-network contract; her new husband has one of the fantastic original contracts - I have an (obsolete) Freetime Priceplan (up to 50hrs off-peak: 7pm -7am; all weekend) - T-mobile and landline with a prepay package for 100 texts; I also have a payg T-Mobile for daytime emergency calls - because we are all T-mobile we are "connected!" ≈≈≈≈{; -)-{{:::::|||||<
