The Vario 3 is a fantastic phone that is bursting with features.
I have had this Phone for about 2 months now and have had no problems with it. To get the most out of it you MUST take the web 'n walk package to get the unlimited internet access.
The Vario III comes loaded with Windows Mobile 6 Phone edition, so it contains all of the things you would expect to find on a modern PDA.
It also contains GPS which can be used with any sat nav software that will run on windows mobile like tom tom or co pilot.
Here is a list of some of its main features.
Great connectivity including 3G,HSDPA,EDGE & Bluetooth: The connection type is automatically chosen depending on whats available in the area, for example if 3G & HSDPA are both available the phone will choose HSDPA as its the fastest. The phone will remain connected the internet when it has a signal unless you disable it the connection menu.
Large LCD 3" Touchscreen display: The Display is a pretty good size and the touchscreen has good response, can be a little hard to operate with your fingers but thats why they supply a stylus at the end of the day :-).
Slide out Qwerty keyboard with tilting screen:- This is the crown jewl of this phone, its like having the worlds smallest laptop in your pocket and makes typing out small word documents much easier than using the Windows mobile on screen keyboard.
Front & back VGA cameras: The front camera is just for 3G video calling and the back is a standard VGA camera with no flash - more on that later.
Direct push email (web'n'walk needed): Windows mobile 6 supports direct push email which means if you sync the phone up with you work exchange server your emails just appear on your phone when they arrive rather than having to use send/recieve. Direct push also means your phone will always be in sync with your work or home computer, contacts, notes, email, documents are all syncronized together.
GPS (yep just buy the tom tom software and its a sat nav) : The GPS seems pretty fast and when used with the tom tom software is just as good as an off the shelf tom tom. It can also be used in conjuction with things like google maps so it can find your nearest pub for example (very handy if you ask me:-)
My only gripe with this phone is the camera, it has real problems in low light situations and the lack of a flash seems a stupid move on such an expensive device.
Overall this phone is a fantastic business tool or simply an over the top toy (you know you love em).
