I had been on the same contract with t-mobile for about 3 years, on the everyone 200 priceplan which I don't even think they do anymore(!), and had consistently gone over my bill for about a year or so, when my sister got herself a new phone and gave me her old simcard, which was also T-mobile, and on the T-Mobile Pay As You Go priceplan.
THE PRICE PLAN Once you get the hang of it, it's quite easy to get used to... here goes...
**Priceplan 1** £10 per month or less (so if you put £10 of credit on your phone or less in the period of one month...)
Call charges - 30p per minute to any UK landline, any UK mobile, at any time of the day. So basically, call whoever you want, whenever you want for a flat charge of 30p per minute.
**Priceplan 2** £10-£20 per month (so if you put more than £10 of credit on to your phone but less than £20 in the period of one month)
Call charges - 20p per minute, as with priceplan 1 to any UK landline or mobile at any time.
**Priceplan 3** £20-40 per month (so if you put more than £20 of credit on your phone but less than £40 in one month)
Call charges - 10p per minute to any UK landline or mobile, any time.
**Priceplan 4** £40+ per month (£40 or more of credit is put on your phone per month)
Call charges - 5p per minute to any UK landline or mobile at any time.
I think that was the easiest way to explain the price plans as it can get a bit confusing without physically seeing it written word for word (well I know it was for me anyway!) Apart from the call charges, text messages are a standard 10p each, regardless of the priceplan you are on. Voicemail is free on every price plan, and picture/media messages are charged at 35p per message.
MY OPINION I initially loved this price plan, probably due to the fact that it was pay as you go and therefore easier to keep tabs on than my contract bill, which often gave me big suprises when it was time to pay! I liked the fact that you do not have to pay extra for calling mobile networks, as they are the main numbers I call, and usually at peak times.
I soon however began to realise that I wasn't getting my moneys worth - as I also had my contract phone, I was never topping up more than £10 or £20 per month, and was therefore paying between 20 and 30p per minute for phone calls - it was cheaper to go over on my contract phone bill, where the call charges were less - than to mess around with two sim cards with two different priceplans...very confusing!!
WHO DOES IT SUIT? Well, if your going to top up about £10 a month and only call UK landlines at off peak times, this is definetly not the price plan for you! But if you do however call a lot of mobiles, then it might be a good idea to consider it. There are however very good deals on contract phones at the moment which give you much more flexibility and better rates.
I would reccommend the priceplan to younger people who cannot afford or haven't got a stable income enough to purchase a contract phone, but who phone an adequate amount of mobile phones on other networks.
AN ALTERNATIVE I've given away the old Relax Pay as You Go Simcard now as I found a brilliant alternative - I switched my contracted priceplan from Everyone 200 to 'Relax 35' which gives you...
500 any time, any network/landline minutes 200 text messages Free voicemail
Once you use up all your minutes and texts, if you do!!....Text messages are 12p each, slightly more expensive but picure messages are much cheaper, at 20p each. Local and national calls are charged at 12p per minute, with calls to UK T-mobile phones costing 10p per minute. All calls to other UK mobile networks cost 35p per minute.
I love the priceplan I'm on at the moment, it is £35 a month and has saved me lots of money already - and I never go over the bill anymore! I sometimes still have text messages left over one day before the end of the month!
WOULD I GO BACK TO IT? No. I found that I was spending too much money on the Pay as you go Relax priceplan.
For me, being on a contract 'Relax' plan with T-mobile definetly works out cheaper, but of course it will vary from person to person.
Hope this helps with your decision making, please let me know if it does!!
Advantages: None that I can think of Disadvantages: Restricted online top-up, staff do not know what they are talking about, expensive phone calls and texts.
...note that price plans for T-mobile have now changed and they have different offers).
Everything was fine, we gave her the phone, lots of hugs and kisses followed, and we topped up initially using an e-top up card, as with were with her. We promised her £20 a month top up, as a further part of the present, and therefore we needed to register for online top-up. This was easy enough to do, the only problem being that we did not live at the same address, ... ...wanted. I mean, did T-Mobile really want my money? I was beginning to wonder.
We struggled through with this for a few months, as they happened to be doing a good offer. If at least £10 was used during a month, £10 would be applied free at the end of the month. This, however, ran out in October. Then the problems really started. All of a sudden, the website would not let me top up at all. I registered another card, just in case of card problems, ...

Advantages: Same tariffs for all networks Disadvantages: confusing price plan, no benefits for all being t-mobile
...back in the days before t-mobile existed when I bought my first phone aged 13, year 2000. During 2002, 2003 (I think, don't quote me on this!), one-2-one changed its name to T-mobile, and with it, the price plans.
Price Plans:
£10 a month credit-30p calls per minute, any network and landlines
10p texts
5p per minute WAP usage
35p media message
Free voicemail
£20 a month credit-20p calls per minute, any network and landlines
Same as above
... ...However whenever my charges change, t-mobile send me a text telling me this and so I am allways aware of how much my calls cost. But I think 30p a minute (I am a cheap student who refuses to pay anymore a month!) is a bit steep and I try not to call. If I have to, I get the person to call me back, particularly if its the parents as they have free calls on contract. However there are no benefits from being on the same network as my family, the call ...

Advantages: 3 price plans to suit different people, not locked into contract. Disadvantages: Usual PAYG disadvantages - Expensive for lots of calls.
...I bought a T-mobile SIM card on impulse (for a fiver - although they are now advertised at 50p, so I feel slightly cheated) after seeing their advert for 3p texts and talking to a surprisingly helpful salesman in store. I was later astonished to find that it was actually possible to speak to human beings at their call centres without waiting on hold for more than one or two geological ages, and moreover, human beings who actually knew what they were ... ...unusually user-friendly too - the T-mobile PAYG (Relax) system offers three different price plans, and I was able to switch to the one I wanted in a matter of moments. These three plans are a key feature of T-mobile's PAYG, so here are the details:
EVERYONE
12p/min calls, 10p texts. Pretty standard PAYG rates, useful if you make a mixture of calls and texts to various networks and landlines, but don't use your phone enough to warrant a contract.

Today's best deals are pay as you go - contract customers over-pay big time for the handset subsidy - and this is the best value on the market for general calling. But it has been changed recently to be stingy in a way that will upset many people - and I'm presently changing the four family mobiles off T-Mobile.
Sorry!
Having said that, the great news on this plan is the 12p/min UK call rate. Are you paying 35p for cross-net calls? This is nearly ... ...I signed up, the minimum call charge was a few pence. Now it's 10p. So all those short calls cost three times as much. And if you study your usage (on-line if you are a PAYG customer, on paper if contract) then, surprise, surprise, a very high proportion of all your calls are under 30 seconds. That made me look around, and frankly I found that by looking hard at on-net prices and the mix of calls and texts I could do much better for the family.

...is on Tesco, which uses T-Mobile transmitters and she always has better signal than i do.
This is something i would like to point out with T-mobile, they sell their network usage to people like Virgin mobile, easymobile, tesco mobile and Carphone Warehouse's fresh network. These all charge under 20p a minute for calls inbetween other customers. The cheapest of these being Fresh, where i believe their calls are just 15p a minute to everyone with ...

Advantages: Great phone, brilliant camera, excellent MP3 player Disadvantages: mmmm - it's my husband's and not mine
with T-Mobile (Relax 300), and I've seen them offered (on contract) for anything up to 100GBP. I've only seen it once on PayAsYouGo and that was for 279GBP.
---Final Words---
This is a great phone, that while performing a number of extra special functions, also works perfectly well as a phone. It's easy and comfortable to make calls and write texts with, and the battery lasts reasonably well. It also boasts an amazing camera, and a very good MP3 player, and to be perfectly honest I'm quite gutted that my husband got such a good phone. Ah well, my contract ends next month, and do you know what, I think I'm going to get one of these for my very own.
