****Web 'n' Walk USB Modem****
Web 'n' Walk USB is a great new concept in mobile Internet. It works through a supplied Mobile phone number from T.Mobile, giving you instant access to the Internet through the supplied USB Modem. This number is only used for Internet access and is not your Mobile number.
It is really easy to set up by simply running a CD which installs the USB Manager software icon straight to your desktop. Included in the Manager application is Email, contacts, and statistics, which show your signal strength, upload and download speed etc.
It comes supplied with a USB connector which you simply plug into your USB port. It is slim and unobtrusive, and you place your supplied sim card into it for activation.
It does advise not to be touched when on, due to low omittions of radio frequency energy. It also states the device should be 1.5 cm from the body when in operation. This is basically a wireless device and can be also used when out and about and on the move.
This is a technological breakthrough enabling anyone without a BT land line to obtain instant access the Internet.
When you sign up for a phone contract, more often than not you are Credit checked, so anyone with a bad credit history will find it hard these days to even obtain a land line. BT owns all the land lines in the UK and even when rented out to other Telephone companies BT still have ownership. With T.Mobile Web 'n' Walk there is no credit check, and all that is needed, is a bank account that Direct Debits can be taken from.
With the Mobile phone taking over more and more from Land line usage, this seems the ideal solution to Internet access.
You are billed by Direct Debit monthly, and the price is £29.00, which sounds dear , but when you take into consideration this is also your line rental, it works out about the same as normal Internet packages. There is also another more expensive Tariff which will enable you to use Skype, and will give you a faster Internet connection.
The signal strength with this device can vary from weak to excellent, so whilst surfing you may be meandering along one moment, then speeding along the next. But at all times I find it pretty fast to be honest.
I have the first tariff and I am bound to an 18 month contract which I am quite happy with as I intend to stay with them. I use the Internet a lot, and download and upload, and have many applications open at the same time, and have not had any problems to date.

They have a technical helpline which is open from 7am to 10 pm daily (0845 412 2993) It is charged at your local rate, or free from a T.mobile phone by dialing 150.
Web 'n' Walk USB is available form most T.Mobile shops, and can also be obtained over the Internet from the T.Mobile website.
I would wholeheartedly recommend this product and I found it very easy to install and use.
The product is supplied to you in a DVD style case; very compact. It contains the sofware CD, instruction booklet, sim card, and USB Modum.
When I went to the T.Mobile shop to purchase this, I was allowed to take the product away with me, with no money down, just the setting up of my Direct Debit. So all in all a very satisfactory transaction.

Advantages: Good for surfing the net on the move, downloading music and watching youtube. Disadvantages: Forget about playing online games or downloading large files. 1st line support is indian.
Ive been using the Web & walk 10GB service from T-mobile for about 2 an half years now..If your thinking of getting this service for use at home and not on the move then I do not recommend it, if you have access to landline internet stay away from this, landline is so much more reliable and faster. I originally got this so I could keep playing my online games which I love so much while away from home for long periods.. If your looking to play online ... ...from most game servers because your connection constantly disconnects and reconnects, admins will kick you from there servers and players will vote you off when they see how rubbish your ping is.. usually 200m to 500m. And when you do get to play the game its usually laggy and you are killed before it even appears on your screen. As for web based use its actually not too bad, if all you are doing is watching youtube, surfing the net or checking your ...

Advantages: internet without a land line Disadvantages: sometimes bad coverage
This is an idea product if you want the internet but not the hassle of connecting a land line. Sometimes the coverage goes usually for me at 2.30 in the morning but it is good. It's cheaper to have a longer contact but you do have to pay monthly by direct debit.
The system requirements are you need 128MB RAM or more plus a hard disc of 50 MB available space plus an operating system of windows XP, windows 2000, windows vista or apple macOS X 10.2.6 ...

Quick review of T.Mobile Web 'n' Walk USB Modem
i live close to a t-mobile mast. its at the top of the hill. im at the bottom. i get a contant 5 bar hsdpa signal, yet get speeds of under 56kbps at peak times, and speeds as high as 150kpbs about 4am. i get speeds as low as 7kbps, thats over 8 times slower than dialup. a 1 minute youtube video typically takes around 1 hour to download. had to get modem unlocked and use three pay as you go, which has been ok so far, around 500kbps at peak time. i'm stuck paying for another 13 months for a service that dont work.

Advantages: Quick & simple installation and easy to use Disadvantages: Network dependant
This modem is easy to use and easy to install. Just plug it in and follow the wizard. 3 different types of colour displays confirm the connection speed you have at a glance. You would think that the cable connecting the modem and laptop would be a hindrance but it's not. This gives you more flexibility to achieve a better signal for your connection. Only one drawback and a very minor one, make sure your firmware version is 11.117 to prevent connection ...
