Its fair to say that I expected a lot from this book. I thought it would be full of the kind of remarks that Simon is famous for. But there is none of his horrible smugness in this book. Instead we see Simon the psycic who kisses ass. He has so many nice things to say about everyone, he isn't rude or nasty at all and he knows everything that is going to happen long before it does. He appears to be in the wrong profession (Simon the Fortune Teller does have a ring to it)
But my opinion does not a reveiw make, so lets get down to the nitty gritty.
***THE COVER***
The front cover is a shot of Simon Cowell resting his head on a microphone. Hardly original, and his face really is enough to put you off reading this book. On the back cover is another shot of him, this time with a cigar in his mouth and grinning. This photo makes...

...I was so excited when I saw this book for sale on amazon and armed with a free 5.00GBP gift voucher I purchased it immediately.
We all know Simon cowell from pop idol if you don’t where have you been? Born in 1959 Simon is one of the countries most successful A & R men in the music industry, he currently works for BMG after starting from right at the bottom as a runner in a production company. The book tells of his early childhood, how he was brought up around famous people and the sadness behind the loss of his father.
The book is supposed to be the truth about fame fortune and my life in music, now I was expecting a full autobiography and I’ve read a few and normally enjoy them however this book is all over the place. One minute your reading about his life and the next its about the contestants in pop idol followed by letters...

Advantages: Easy to read and very funny Disadvantages: Bit too short and could have been more indepth about some events
...have has less coverage.
I didn’t really find Simon to be rude before reading this book as I find his comments to be truthful about singers and I think I would say a lot worse to people that go on the show and obviously can’t sing but when he does say things in a slightly less than diplomatic way I keep in mind the fact that it’s TV and if people don’t like his comments it still gets people watching just to see what he’s going to say.
There are also some very funny stories involving Paula for American Idol!...
