...help desk ommited to mention. I called an aeriall firm, a reputable one at that. They came and spent an hour crawling over my roof trying to get a signal. They found a very weak one and decided that if they highered it up the signal would be strong enough. That then posed the second problem or getting permission from who ever is responsible for aeroplanes flying over that might hit it. My advice, GET SKY! ...

Sky are pathetic

Advantages: Good programs
Disadvantages: Installation process can be traumatic

...that to be a "Certified Sky Engineer" you have to be rude, unhelpful, messy and incompetent. Don’t be surprised if they ask you to do some of the work yourself, or if they try to charge you extra. The Digibox crashes often and the technical support team are argumentative and lacking in basic knowledge about their receivers. To make matters worse the calls to Sky are charged at 30p per minute (that used to be the rate for writing one Ciao review!). ...

more bother than it's worth

This opinion is'nt so much about about sky digital channels more really about sky as a company. Five weeks ago my Husband and I decided to purchase sky we paid £100 as we just wanted the free channels etc. 4 days after we had the service installed we recieved a letter from Sky thanking us for subscricing to them, we phoned them straight away and told them we had not signed any contract and did not wish to subsricbe to their service we were happy ...
...spoke to said she would cancel the contract. A few days later after we had been at a relatives watching his sky channels we decided we would like to subscribe to the film channels, so I phoned Sky and requested this, the Lady I spoke to said she would send the signal to our dish and we would be able to watch the films in approx 2 hours, 5 hours later we had no films so my Husband rang Sky and the gentleman he spoke to said a request for the family ...

Dire customer services

Advantages: Long installation times.
Disadvantages: Customer service attitudes dire.

I decided to get NTL when I bought my house back in October. Two weeks before moving in a called them up to organise installation. I wanted NTL TV and phone. I was also very interested in their new cable-modem (broadband) service for internet. So I thought two weeks notice would be enough? Let me continue... My girlfriend had a week off during the move to organise things in the daytime (I couldnt get much time off work that week) and I had hoped ...

Sky, Not as clear as the blue sky

Disadvantages: a lot

My experience with sky has been both good and bad. I had been with them since 2004 until May this year. I was paying £38 per month via direct debit from my bank account for the sports package. I had no problems with sports package, whenever I wanted watch live football it was great. The only thing that bugs me is that when you try and watch say something like the A-Team on UK Gold, the picture stutters and often freezes mid sentence which is really ...
