~~ Take A Break's Fate & Fortune ~~

I have recently stopped buying all my weekly magazines and I just keep to my regular monthly ones, mainly because I was just not getting the time to read them all. I chose this one because I love spooky stories and reading about anything spiritual. So, enough of my waffle lets get down to business of the magazine. The one I have in front of me is the July 2006 issue; the majority of the format is ...
...at page 9, so lets take a look on this pages competition.

This month you can win a Butlin's family holiday and Spa experience with some spending money thrown in as well. All you need to do is read the advertising feature (oops sorry competition), locate the answer to a very simple question and bobs your uncle, pop it on a postcard, keep your fingers, toes, legs and anything else you can cross in the hope that you are that lucky winner. ... more

Is life really written in the stars?

Advantages: bright and colourful, well presented, lots of varied articles, 7 pages of horoscopes
Disadvantages: poor journalism, not believeable, lots of adverts, puzzles are easy to complete

I can take or leave celebrity magazines, I have never really got excited about the latest copy of Heat or Hello magazine, but the one thing I do love, merely for cheap laughs is Fate and Fortune which is a spin off to Take a Break. My mum buys Take a Break magazine and we usually argue over whom is going to do all of the puzzles first when I go around for dinner so when she stopped buying it I was hoping to find something else to keep me amused. ...
...similar to its sister magazine Take a Break with its layout and design. As with Take a Break there is a savvy looking lady on the front cover surrounded by a mix of eye-catching headlines such as “This dead pilot lives on in our boy” and ““Psychic Slimming” unlike the cover of the Take a Break Magazine where you have headlines such as “My Sister is now my brother” with Fate and Fortune there is something spiritual about the headlines. Upon opening ...

Give me a break!

Advantages: gave me a good laugh.
Disadvantages: impossible to believe 99% of whats in it.

...avid reader of the original take a break magazine or this spin off from it (take a breaks fate and fortune) so in order to write this review I have done plenty research, a fair bit of first time reading of this mag and I have also taken a lot of very good advice from my fiancée who cant get enough of these types of magazines, so here goes! The original take a break magazine has many features in it and one thing I have to give it great credit for ...
...to entertain people. The original take a break mag actually pays people like you and I for our real life stories not only so others can delve into your secrets but so perhaps our experiences can help other readers. For me this magazine gets a thumbs up, however the spin off mag which this review is about gets an all together different vote from me. Take a breaks fate and fortune magazine is a monthly magazine which for me contains a collection of ...

Discover your Fate and Fortune with Take A Break.

Advantages: A pleasant change to the usual magazines.
Disadvantages: How do we know any of it's real?

...options I'll sometimes pick up Take A Break Fate & Fortune for a little something different. It's certainly not a magazine for everybody, in fact for some it contains many subjects they may disapprove of such as mediumship(talking with the dead) Psychics and magic. While I am skeptical of the existence of such abilities I find it fascinating to read about and I'm sure we'd all like to hope that there is some form of afterlife where we can see our ...
...off from the standard Take a break magazine which features real life stories, letters, competitions etc. It comes out monthly and costs £1.60, a lot of the content is similar to a standard Take A Break but with a supernatural twist. The magazine has the feel that it is aimed at the 25 and upwards range and definitely angles more towards womens interests then mens, not that I'm saying men don't read it, but it certainly feels more of a womens mag' ...

...colourful and has the usual take a break layout with the usual pretty girl why I don't know but there she is! It also states the month the one in front of me is May 2007 but the whole layout inside and outside is usually the same. The price is also quite prominent and is £1.60 and then lots of headlines advertising the different stories and articles inside the mag. YOUR LETTERS ----------------------- Firstly you get your letters where people ...
...These little sections do not take to long to read and can be funny, believable and interesting. MYSTIC MIX --------------------- This month includes a psychic CV from famous medium Mia Dolan who is on a TV programme called Haunted homes. Also lots of little snippets of information about different things including this month the medium that had correctly revealed in 1944 through her spirit guide that 2 warships had been sunk but the admiralty had ...

I need a break

Advantages: Entertaining and often amusing
Disadvantages: Is it for real?

Take a break This is one of those magazines I picked up a while ago, in error- I merely saw “Take a Break” and thought it was the original magazine by that name. needless to say, it’s quite different, although being a spin off of the original magazine, this does promise to deal with true life stories. I was never especially convinced by the original, but continued to give this a go. A few readings on, mainly when I need light and not overly taxing ...
...and in this magazine they take up no less than 7 pages, covering love, life, success and cash, as well as the chance to telephone your horoscope hotline to pay lots of money for a detailed horoscope. The Noticeboard puts you in touch with spooky goings on around the country, and allows people interested in this sort of thing to find a pen friend. The Psychic Love Coach answers your love questions, and although she can’t answer questions personally, ...

publication and it would be better off without it. In terms of competition, Take A Break's Fate and Fortune magazine is very similarly priced and has a similar house style, and if you enjoy one you would most likely enjoy the other as the contents and features are very similar. Fate and Fortune also has some advantages, such as a diary of mind, body and spirit events in the U.K. each month; a regular feature where the house psychics take to the streets, give a reading and then the people chosen give their responses which is more intriguing in terms of proof than anything It's Fate has to offer; and a whole page of mind, body and spirit freebies you can send off for, not that I've ever been one of the lucky ones to receive one as they are drawn out of a hat! But all in all, if I were to only buy one, I would favour Chat - It's Fate ...
