I having been buying Take a Break for as long as I can remember. Every week I buy it with the intentions of doing the puzzles and sending the little form off but I often miss the deadline and end up thinking ''I'll do it with next weeks issue!''
However nowthe magazine have started allowing you to enter online - brilliant! Now I never miss an issue! I'ts an easy system to use simply by registering once and then every week to enter all you need to do is log in and select which issue you are entering and then inout the answers from all the quizzes into each little box provided and click submit! bob's your uncle!
Anyway for those who aren't familiar with this weekly magazine let me give you an insight into it.
The magazine was started in March 1990 so already has been around for a staggering 17 years and is edited by a Mr John Dale. According to hard statistics, the magazine sells 2 copies every second which means that this mag is the 4th largest womans weekly in the world! wow The mag goes on sale every thursday and it's current selling price is 76p - not bad when you think of everything that is in it.
So what makes it so good??
Well for a start it's all real life stuff - right down to the knitty gritty. Evry week the story has approx 15 full real life stories, at least 50 or so real life letters, beauty tips, medical advice for real people, food recipes, fashion advice, a travel feature, starsigns, at least one fiction story and best of all the free to enter puzzles!
Every story that is featured is from real people who are paid for their stories and every single person who sends in a letter, short note or picture to the magazine is paid aswell. payment can be anywher from between £25 upto £400! The only clause is that stories must be unique to them and not have already been sold to other magazines.
People wanting to send in a story or letter of any kind can do so by filling in the form in the mag which is normally near to the back or you can phone them on: 020 7241 8074 you can text them on: 07811431800 email them at: tab.features@bauer.co.uk or online at: www.takeabreak.co.uk
As i mentioned above the puzzles are all free - there is usually approximately 15 every week which you now can enter by going online to their website or you can by phone on: 09055 811 800 or fax the for to them on: 09055 811 803 or you can enter by good old post by sending the form to them at: take a break competitions po box 8114 market harborough LE16 0AN
Personally, I love entering the competitions and always imagine winning something really nice, especially as some of their prizes are pretty decent with far flung holidays and cars every week but, and this is the downside, with all them people buying the magazine, the chances of winning are not very high - almost like playing the lottery!! However, somebody has to win so for now i'll keep imagining that win!!
For those who find the weekly fix not enough, Take a break also run summer and autumn specials too that are normally more than double in size - these are popular for people off on their holidays giving them somethinmg light to carry and read whilst on the beach or by the pool!
Enjoy!!
