I have to apologize in advance (lol, good start!!) as my review seems to have taken on, more of a 'how to make money from take a break' review but only since reading the smaller print have I noticed how much there is to be made. I have also included the regulars you can expect from take a break.
Design --------- Front cover jam packed detailing mainly the real life stories with photo's to be featured in the issue, and usually displays the tempting amount of money that could be won, and in this particular issue stands at a total of £32,470 in the form of cars, cash and holidays.
THE REGULARS
Take a break St. ---------------------- The first double spread page, entitled 'Take a Break St.' is laiden with snippets and small accompanying photos sent in by readers of usually cute, funny or just unusual moments in their life (only scanning the page closely for the purpose of this review, I have noticed how much they pay per used items - a whopping £100 - as before i'll put the details at the bottom). Another
regular of this page is a 4x4 arrowword with the chance for 25 readers to win £50 for correct answers.
The Brainwaves Roadshow ----------------------------------- This is a single page feature - and yet another way to earn some dosh - whilst picking up a few handy tips along the way. Take a break asks readers to send in their 'top tips' which usually include topics such as cleaning, cooking, gardening or turning household rubbish into something useful (although, in some cases; something equally as rubbish). One example from this issue is; 'cutting up a couple of old beaded necklaces, threading onto some cotton to make napkin holders'. It's best to send in a photo along with your tip, as the money is doubled if used (£30 text only tips, £60 with a photo).
Heart Beat ------------- This feature follows real life health stories, health tips and trivia and a small section where readers can ask 'Dr Knott' for advice on medical issues.
Cookery ----------- Recipes of a couple of dishes on this double page spread with emphasis on how to copycat supermarket dishes at a fraction of the cost, with the benefits of using fresh ingredients. They provided the nutritional information for each of their own dish, however do not for the supermarkets own. The cost is based on 'per portion' and always serves 4. In this issue the cooking times are under an hour and costs are around £1.50 per portion.
Liz Wilde's Beauty SOS ------------------------------ Another chance to make some money, where readers can write in and ask for advice on issues such as skincare, best value for money products, how to cover up grey hairs - pretty much anything you can think of, earning you £25 for each letter used and a further £25 if you provide a photo of yourself.
Coffee Break Fiction -------------------------- One page, tabloid style short story. Unlike in Fiction Feast, it is not placed under a certain category, so will come as a complete surprise. Same high quality standard of writing, though, of which there are usually 1 or 2 per issue.
Horoscopes ---------------
Real Life letters Sensible and Barmy ---------------------------------------------- Slightly longer versions of what you could expect to see published on take a break St. - Stories of love, courage, fond memories or those that are just 'barmy' are accepted (paying £50 + £25 if photo is used, although if you are lucky enough to get chosen as 'letter of the week' its £100 to you).
Real Life Stories --------------------- Crammed to the brim, with real life stories, this in my opinion, is probably the best there is out there for this. Though, I find the stories can sometimes be slightly depressing detailing the lives of - lost loves, scams, murders and generally sad stories and would personally like to see a few more inspirational stories thrown in there.
Puzzles ---------- Puzzles with good cash prizes usually include; code breakers, crosswords, arrowwords, word searches and sudoku.
Money making details --------------------------- For each of the above, send to: Take a break st, brainwaves, Beauty SOS or sensible and barmy to the below address.

Advantages: It's great being able to pick up a magazine , read an article and take a indept view into the lives of others Disadvantages: Having to hide it from other members of the family ,as they can't keep their hands off.
