I am a big fan of Clarins products but find them far too expensive to buy them as often as I would like, they tend to be essential items or bought as treats after a busy month at work. After a hectic time at work where I was working 12 hour days my eyes resembled something from a horror film, they were red, puffy and had deep dark bags underneath making me look something similar to my 70 year old grandma and I knew it was time to try something and Clarins Eye Contour Gel came to my rescue, but it came at a price. £15.99 for a small tube of the gel. Contour gel for Panda eye

Advantages: A tiny container good for travelling
Disadvantages: No visible effects, neither positive nor negative

Several months ago while shopping in superdrug, I spied upon the Olay eye contour gel. Out of curiosities, I bought it. Six months on, I have finally finished the tiny jar of 15 ml and is happy to say, the effects are so slight I still don't know what it does to my skin. According to Olay, the eye contour gel is supposed to reduce lines, dark circles and puffiness. In my case, I have some lines and definitely large dark circles around my puffy eyes. I assume these were the consequences of too many late nights and insufficient sleep over the years. The gel comes in a tiny translucent jar with a black cap with the usual Olay logo. Advantages: Cooling sensation
Disadvantages: Expensive, some of the promises are overrated

I first purchased this eye gel in 2000, after a long-haul flight from Sydney to London. I wasnt interested in a "wrinkle defence" or "anti-wrinkle" eye cream, and I didnt want anything too greasy or heavy as I suffer from combination oily/excema prone skin. I was looking for something cooling, soothing and moisturising, which might help with the dark smudges. The Clarins Eye Contour Gel was suggested by a counter person. Since then I have tried many Clarins products, but this is one of only 2 I have bought twice. I first purchased this with a moisturiser and received a slew of free samples, and a hand mirror.
