I chose talktalk because of the apparent value in linking a broadband connection at 512k with a phone package that allowed unlimited calls except to 0870 and 0845 numbers. The first few months were fine then, talktalk started would throttling downloads. Up to December 2005 this occured only between 4 pm and midnight. This year they throttle 24 hours. Even legal downloads like openoffice are restricted even though P2P is the recommended way of downloading. They said in their initial letter that downloads would be unlimited then unilaterally changed the T&C. I have got my local Trading Standards investigating this and there may be a case for citing 'unfair contracts'. In the future I will choose an ISP that allows a monthly contract

Thing is...I'm trying to find out about Talk Talk as a phone and broadband provider...and there is nothing here to help me decide. Sorry.

What about their capabilities as a landline provider?
